I think Chief is green out of respect to his fallen SIIs who died in the war, Linda’s probably brown for camouflage reasons because she’s a sniper

Ok, that makes sense. But Linda would be toting around a very yellow Nornfang so I don’t think that camouflage would be very effective.

That is weird, although I’m pretty sure that Linda fires first and never misses the majority of the time so I doubt it would really matter.

You have to remember Halo’s 1-3 all occur within a couple months during the beginning of 2553 more or less. Halo 4 is in 2557 and 5 in 2558.

John actually reunited with them after the Fall of Reach in 2552. He went back to Reach after Halo’s detonation and saved them. Then between the end of H1 and the beginning of H2, they were separated when John went to have his armor replaced. Linda, Fred, and Will were actually on Earth fighting against the Covenant at the same time as John, they were just deployed elsewhere. Then they ended up at the Onyx installation during the events of Halo 2/3. Afterward there are various adventures such as Last Light. Finally in the next 3 days following the end of Halo 4, John reunites with them and takes on Didact again. They’re presumably together from that point on to Halo 5.
