Big Team used to be my go to playlist, It has changed a lot, It seems like there are hardly any maps in the playlist. I only ever seem to play complex, settler or meltdown. I really think that BTB should be changed. What I think would be a lot better is if all the maps had a same chance of appearing. I also think that in the voting options, There should always be a choice between Slayer, Slayer Pro and an objective variant.
Objective variants would be nice. But we’ve been asking for that for a long time and it hasn’t happened yet.
BTB with Objective (Specifically Extraction, CTF, and Dominion) would be fantastic. Though I would like Pro variants of every gametype.
I would also like Pro updated with a Motion Tracker, as BTB plays very differently from 4v4, and the maps have far more nooks, crannies, and complexities that are too easy to exploit.
As well, I hope the new map variations they are releasing alongside the tuning update better support Pro, and the lack of Grenade and Sidearm selection.
343I happened, they keep “Fixing” the playlists and yet they manage to make them worse.
Settler is a TERRIBLE map, yet it comes up quite oftenly, I did stop playing BTB wich was the only gametype I played regularly thansk to this new “fixes”
Settler is so awful, i cant believe that people continually vote for it, at least its not as broken as it was when the sniper was at the top of that hill.

They force Pro and Objectives, which has little to no support a stand alone play lists into the most populated two play lists in the hope of making things better. It will not! Pro is being rejected by the majority of Infinity players. Objectives would similarly be rejected.

If people really cared for objective game types, presumably like they did when it was mixed with Slayer back on Halo 3, for example, you would find many more people seeking out Team Objectives and actually playing it on Halo 4. But, you don’t. Most stay at Infinity Slayer and BTIS as straight up killing is preferred.

IMO, that is why IS and BTIS is most popular in Halo 4 over older style play lists with win/loss, forced load-outs, no radar etc. That is modern gaming reality! The days of Halo 3 style play, forced upon the majority due to lack of other choices/competition and games to play, have long gone. Now they have experienced the many different possibilities, it is clear that the Infinity style is preferred. However, the reality is, Halo is a niche scifi genre game and it can never compete against realistic human v human war games such as Battlefield and COD. The next Halo though, may have a population which stays higher for much longer if options are provided on launch day. Infinity type stuff for the majority who like that and old style play lists and modes for the older style players.

But do not force them on the majority that really does not care for them and want to touch them at all. Mixing them into Infinity does not somehow make them popular. It just hides the truth! And, it does not do a good job at that as we can all see what gets voted and not voted on.We all see who quits and back out of lobbied and so on…the mixing experiment failed.
Wolfblade do you know that objective based gameplay is what made big team battle stand out in other halos? ctf, assault and all the rest are what made BTB good.
this new big team is BORING.
have they added objective to BTB yet guys? i’ve not fired up halo in a while i got bored with the state of BTB in halo 4.

I think they mentioned something about it, not sure when

They said in a bulletin like 2 months ago that they were “exploring” with BTB objective game types, meaning we won’t get them anytime soon.
I would also like territories in the list of objective games

> That whole post focused on the fact that people like the new infinity variants more when halo 4s population averages 10x less than halo 3 did. Sorry, but I’m not buying that. We need BTB objective, it’s better than regular because its less likely to get 7 bad teammates than 3

It’s mostly due to there being more games to play now, and not because Halo changed.

Well there is that too.
But you cant deny how many people played Halo 4 on the launch night and now there a week later, most of those players were gone and these forums are full of threads where people say that they left because of Halo becoming like CoD or Battlefield copy.
