What happened to 343 Guilty Spark?

If you are familiar with the books, you would know that a UNSC investigation team found the still barely active remains of 343 Guilty Spark floating with debris from installation 00 (The Ark). The team picked up Guilty Spark and interrogated him aboard their ship to gain insight on the ancient humans and forerunners, particularly the Didact. However, during the interrogation, 343 Guilty Spark hacked into the ship and took full control of the vessel. Guilty Spark claimed that he knew that the Librarian was still alive and that he knew where to find her. He put the crew to sleep and set a course to find the Librarian. After this, Guilty Spark was never heard from again.

I have been wondering when this story will be touched on again and how important it might be if it is. Will this story tie into the games or novels or both? And if Guilty Spark does find the Librarian alive, what could this mean for the future of halo?

I personally think this story will be brought up again in a big way but I cannot imagine how. Any thoughts?

I wouldn’t be surprised to see something about this in the next few games or mentioned in some live action things. If I recall from some audio logs or something of that nature, you could hear the Infinity talking about a ship that went dark and lost contact. I’d love to hear more about this as well seeing that 343 is taking more into mind about the actual lore and story of Halo rather than just Master Chief now.

I would prefer a book though… It’s something about the excellent descriptions and the ability to picture whatever you want in your head that you like. With the game you just get the idea of a few people that was put into use. With books, you are the one who decides what the surroundings really look like.

The Rubicon (and Chakas) will definitely return, but not until far after the Reclaimer Saga. The Librarian is dead, Chakas was more than likely following the beacon of the current Forerunner Lifeshaper, who would be far outside the Milky Way for a UNSC vessel to ever reach.

On the off chance he was referring to the Didact’s wife (which I hope to god he wasn’t), I can’t imagine him fitting in anywhere in the current Halo timeline.

I think he was referring to her, but simply didn’t know she passed over the rank. He’s going to be shocked when he finds out she isn’t the lifeshaper he’s looking for.

I  Tim Dadabo!

i would love to see more of 343 guilty spark especially as a ship.

Thats actually an interesting note. Spark’s damaged body was ejected out the airlock. With the awakening of his other personalities, and the fact he is literally now a ship, he’ll be a very different character.

It’ll be interesting to see if Spark plays a role in 5 or 6. Maybe he’ll tie into the return of Chant/Iso or Mendicant Bias.

One of the best characters!

It would be so cool to have a reunion with main characters and forerunners and Chakas and John.

I imagine that he’s on his way to Path Kethona given that that’s the most likely place that the remaining Forerunnera, including Chant, exiled thenselves to following the reseeding of the galaxy.

We may assume that there’s no way in hell that the Rubicon could get all the way to the Large Magellanic Clound, but then again, I’d think that a ship that, as far as we know, got to the Ark with its own slipspace drives could probably make the journey to the LMC.

If this storyline was brought up again, it would most likely be in book format. I can’t really see Guilty Spark showing up in the games anymore. There would have to be a LOT of explanation for the people who don’t pay attention to the lore.

I’m now thinking Path Kethona, a new librarian and novel format is the way to do it

I think he might make a cameo at the end of Halo 5. At some point I think that 343 guilty spark and mendicant bias will have a face off. Just seeing an epic AI battle would be pretty cool. I’m sure that the next few games will be pretty A.I focused so it’s a safe bet 343 will show up at some point.

I’m guessing its got one of those ‘forerunner drives’ they keep installing in ships. Though even then that was hard for the forerunners. It seems however, that reconciliation or slipspace debt is not a problem in the current age, so that may have a part in it as well.

I blew Guilt Spark out of the sky with a Spartan Laser and that was the end of that.

Er… Why would they fight? Chakas is attempting to reach the Lifeshaper (Chant to Green, though he’s under the impression Librarian is alive) in order to restore Riser and Vinnevra to life, and Mendicant Bias is attempting to use John as his instrument of atonement to have the Forerunners know that he has changed.

They could get there, it would just take awhile.
