So I was on Youtube, and I post a comment and a guy answer me. So I decided to put them here and see what you think. Because
This is the thing I most dislike about all this new Halo
My youtube comment:
The feeling of beeing a spartan is awesome, if you read the books or see the movie or something, I guess you will know of what I’m talking about, a spartan was a One Man Army, equals to 1000 soldiers, it was more than a guy in a armor, a spartan was intelligent, has values, a saprtan will give his life for his team, a spartan was not a weapon, not a machine, was not the best soldier, it was the best human, a spartan fight for humanity, for his family or friends. A spartan will fight with a brute using just his hands, he will fight the impossible situations. But 343 came with the spartans IV, the completly opossite, new spartnas are just “a guy in a suit”, a spartan IV will not try the impossible, Is absurd how 343 show spartans IV in halo 5 as cracks, that in the opening scene beat an army of the covenant, and then , the real cracks, the blue team were just a brotherhood (If you know their history) that uses estrategy, but thats wrong, blue team, yes it is a brotherhood and uses strategy like no one else, but they can beat a colony covennat ship (I dont know the exact name) with a few weapons, they are the ones that beat a complete covennat army, not the new spartans, they just have new tech and thats all. I mean I know they are also cool but…I really hate that. I no longer play halo feeling badass, I feel like a soldier, but when I played halo 1, 2 or 3 campaign I will go towards a hunter because “I am a spartan so I can do it”. I will love you if you make a video of this topic
Mozarkus, the guy who answer me:
Dude, I have the same feelings, I’ve read so many comments i’ve agreed with, but yours is so accurate and i feel identified with that you just made me write this down. Yes, for many of the fanbase Halo Reach started Halo’s decay, but no one has shared my feelings, for me it wasn’t the sprint stuff or armor abilities, in some way i appreciated them they were just a “give it a try” from Bungie’s part but it didnt work so well, that shouldve had been fixed by Halo 4, etc.
BUT for me was this fukin’ whoreshit of telling a different story line than Halo the Fall of Reach book, instead they brought a new “Spartan III’s -Yoink-”, noble six, i didnt even care for those technically new characters dead. If, only if we just would have seen the many deaths of Jonhs mates… and stuff, Halo mother fukin fall of Reach was so perfect I was picturing it within a movie budget or somekind, the book portrays and delivers what a real halo fan expect from master chiefs origin, it creates the definition of a Spartan, HELL master chief rejects sitting down in a forniture for considering an act of softness (in F of Reach), he never rests even off duty, he IS duty, mission, sacrifice BUT then 343 gives me this so called Sarah Palmer WITH LONG MOTHERFUKIN’ HAIR, thats all, I didnt even need to wait for character development, LONG HAIR in a Spartan, that gave me the inmediate impression they didnt understand the original lore. And that just repeats over and over again with so many features in H4 and H5.
Unlike call of duty, Halo didnt need to be changed, CoD fanbase repeateadly said the franchise was a remake and a remake and they DEMANDED changes, they got them for good.
Halo is the contrary, if we dont DEMAND that the franchise needs to reconsider this changes, its all, the end, halo 4 and 5 are already on the market, we have still a chance for Halo 6.
Sorry for my english, not my mother language.
So there are the thoughs. To summarize it.
I think the spartan feeling is lost. Spartans doesn’t have value know. I get the infinity and the war games idea of Halo 4 but know spartans population is bigger and that makes them seem like normal expendables soldiers. I don’t feel the power of beeing a spartan anymore.
