Its a mixture of trolls from sites like Reddit and -Yoink!-, ps3 fanboys, and people who actually played it and don’t like it. Same thing happened to mw2, mw3, blops, etc.
Didn’t you see RE6’s score when it was released? It was below 1.0 at one point. Metacritic is a very broken site and you shouldn’t pay it any attention.
Hmmm, as I’m watching the review numbers at the top, I refresh the screen and notice that the positive reviews are actually dropping! Is that normal on Metacritic? doesn’t seem right…

I fully agree with this, but as most of us know by now, some developers/publishers rely on Metacritic scores to actually determine the success and bonuses of the employees working for said developer. I’m sure Microsoft and 343i aren’t like that though.

Only thing that bugs me is that there was a critic that gave it a 20. 20’s are reserved for utter garbage and no Halo game should deserve that…
