I have been working on two really difficult maps and one of them is a project that is a year old that I am finishing up.
The old one is a picture perfect recreation of narrows but under the water on forge island.
The other one is a space station on impact that changes gravity outside but stays normal inside. Also when outside you take shield damage and glow due to radiation from a nearby star.
> That’s unfortunate. It sucks to see yet another Halo community fall into the dust.
I’ll see if I can’t find oVR (he was the owner of the site) or get someone to talk to him. I’m curious as to his reason for closing the site after putting so much work into it, especially with MCC and Halo 5 around the corner. Who knows, maybe he closed it just until the release of MCC.
> I might buy forge hub and restart it up again along with forgecafe, seeing I have quite a bit of extra money lying around.
If I may, I’d say wait until MCC releases and go from there. If Halo is big again, it’d be worth it giving people a place to go and thrive. But it’d just be more disheartening to see it go the same stale route that it has the past year. That said, if you do pick it up I’d be grateful.
I’d recommend consulting the old Moderator team too, just so there are people familiar with the site and it’s history ready and available in case you need a moderator team.
EDIT: Just saw a post by undr zid (the previous owner of ForgeCafe) on his new site, DestinyCafe.
The reason it closed down was him forgetting to pay for the site, and he’d considered bringing it back up but decided against it due to the fact that the Forge Community is all but dead. He said he might consider picking it back up around Halo 5’s release, but at the moment the site is completely gone, server files pulled and everything.
Not sure about the Hub yet, but I’ll keep looking.
Hello I’m Grif, one of the original Forge Hub Staff members and the longest running active member on the site. The site was bought out by a new group that thought it could revitalize it. They couldn’t and eventually couldn’t afford to host it anymore.
I am not aware of any plans for its revitalization.

The new group being oVR, or did I miss something more recent? -Yoink!- shame either way though. I’ve been lurking Forgehub for years.

That’s unfortunate, Forgehub, even though I haven’t been there in a while was still something important to me in the community years ago.
