We don’t know all we know that fleetcom didn’t like what he tried to do with chief and cortana and put lasky in charge of Infinity and del rio had to step down from captain and so lasky was given the rank of captain and took charge of Infinity.
When del rio left chief on Requiem, he was discharged and lasky was made captain.
Wonder what happened AFTER Captain Del Rio was replaced by Lasky.

Why do I get the feeling that Del Rio being discharged will play some role in Halo 5? Maybe turn his back on humanity and join with the Didact? (lets face it, a badass Promethean leader like the Didact would be killed so easily. Not with all the advanced Forerunner tech at his disposal).
The guy came off as a mediocre play-it-safe military man.
I don’t think that he is destined for greatness, good or bad.

I wonder if thier will be something that happens in Halo 5 that forces the Cheif to seek out the Captain and requests his help. This forces the two to some how work together. For some erally weird reason i feel like Halo 5 is gonna be dark and alot of things are gonna go wrong. I also feel that the Cheif is gonna be forced into a situation where he must go against orders from the UNSC and must take matters into his own hands. With Halsey being labled a criminal i can see Cheif not being to happy.
Hmm, wouldn’t it just be something if Del Rio synched up with any remaining Innies? And/or went to the rebelling Covies and made a new Covie/Human Alliance that was out to destroy the ruling Human AND Covie (Arbiter) forces?
Personally though, I’m so glad to see Del Rio gone. Lasky is a MUCH more likeable character.

He was relieved of command for abandoning the Master Chief on Requiem. During the trench run on the final campaign mission Lasky tells you.
As for the female marines, that’s probably just a design oversight.
Either that or they’re being used for breeding (according to the Halo 3 Bestarium the human population at the end of the war was around 200 million).
She didn’t scare them away, she keeps all non-spartan females on the ship because she hates dudes.
It’s true we haven’t seen many female spartans yet, but there is the one in Majestic.
He probably will get some backwash post if the wasn’t discharged.

Well actually Del Rio told Lasky to keep Chief on the Infinity and Lasky gave him a Pelican off of the Infinity. So really, Lasky left him on Requiem. Not saying it wasn’t a good idea, but I always laugh when I hear Del Rio “left Chief on Requiem”.

But basically Captain Lasky tell us that, FLEETCOM wasn’t pleased when he arrived back at Earth without Master Chief Petty Officer (of the Navy) John-117 so he was forced to step down as Captain and was replaced by Lasky. His demotion was also likely caused by the attack on New Phoenix, which could have been prevented if he had listened to the Master Chief.
