What Halo Novel Should I Read Next?

I’m looking for members of the community to guide my journey through the Halo lore.

I listened to the Cryptum audiobook and I just finished Ghosts of Onyx. What should I read next? Is there an order I should follow?

No spoilers please, thanks!

If you want to go chronological it would be the rest of the forerunners trilogy, broken circle, contact harvest, silent Storm, Cole Protocol, parts of evolution appear everywhere, battleborn, the nylund trilogy (ghost of onyx would be book 3), new blood, hunters in the dark, kilo 5 trilogy, some parts from fractures, I’m unsure the order of the next few books as it has been a while since I read them smoke and shadows, retrebution, legacy of onyx.

I would recommend the rest of the nylund trilogy and contact harvest personally as I think they are some of the best.

Since you’ve covered Cryptum, I’d recommend finishing off that trilogy first. Then maybe read the Kilo Five Trilogy since it has some follow up to Ghosts of Onyx.

Looks like I’ll be scouring my local Barnes & Noble for these books.

If you finished cryptum, then I highly suggest you read Primordium and Silentium to finish with that trilogy. They are a good read, and you learn so much of the forerunners, the precursors and the flood. But if your more interested in the UNSC / insurrection / Covenant conflicts then see below.

I own and have read every halo novel so far except for just Halo Battle Born, and I have really enjoyed them all. I would as already suggested above, after the forerunner triology, start with reading Broken Circle (If your interested in reading about the formation of the Covenant and what not before everything else) or otherwise Contact Harvest to see where the Human - Covenant War really begins, and from there read others like The fall of Reach, followed by The Flood, First Strike, silent storm. There’s really so many, and smasher555 above gives a good chronological order.
