The Beta so far feels like the best Halo game since Halo 3. It’s even set up for every player and 343 is taking balancing seriously. Things will need to be tweaked, obviously.
What’s really been missing for a long time though are players with mics. The random teamwork, the constant trash talking between teams. That’s what has been missing. I loved getting into games with my friends in Halo 2, 3, and some Reach. Using call outs, dominating. Trash talking, even if I was losing. Communication is what’s special. I’m okay with the Spartan chatter being toggable if nobody is using mics, but it doesn’t replace actual players. It’s also intrusive when you are playing with friends and teammates with headsets.

Yes I agree mics are key to winning a game and getting in the other teams head
Blame the development of party chat, the increased amount of vacuum cleaners, screaming mothers screaming at their children to get off the Blaming! video game and do something useful.
I suppose the only way to change it, is to start using then again!
