So I have been thinking about this for a few days. One of the biggest issues with Halo 5 for me was that none of the maps are memorable. If Infinite is going to succeed one of the major things the multiplayer will need is memorable maps. Like Last Resort/ Zanzibar, Valhalla, Blood Gulch, Cold Storage. Maps that when you bring them up in conversation people go “Oh yeah I remember that map it had X feature.” I never felt that with any of the Halo 5 maps and that is one of the biggest things I think Infinite needs. Obviously this is one of many things that’s needed but it really sticks out in my mind as being important for the longevity of the game.

Agreed.
There is a lot about Halo 5 that is, unfortunately, very forgettable. Many people remember maps from CE to this day because of how fun they were (Blood Gulch, Chill Out, Damnation, Hang 'em High, I could keep going).
Not to change the subject, but I wonder if the movement mechanics of Halo 5 had anything to do with it…

That may have been part of it but I feel like you could have the movement mechanics and still have memorable maps. Hell even Halo 4 had the horseshoe map that got remade in 5. I don’t remember the name but I remember the layout.
Reasons why people dont forget these old names (H1 Veteran here) are that there simply werent as many maps to choose from. Hell, we played years on the same few (gorgeous) maps
With every new installment they were adding more and more maps, so its kind of hard to keep up with that. I never played Halo 5s Multiplayer. I prefer the H1-H3 Gameplay and movement.

Haven in H4, then Mercy in H5. Although Haven was the most popular in H4, I would say that Skyline and Abandon were superior maps in design and strategy and left a better impression on me.
My point proven right there you remembered the map just based off of my description of a map feature.
I loved all the warzone maps. But I would love to have classic MP maps in Arena, made from scratch and not forge.
H3 always had the best maps in my opinion. If they could bring back something like high ground, I’d be very happy.
