Which halo game and controller layout are best to practice for halo 4?
Anyone?
depends what halo 4 setup your gonna use o.o?
I mean the best possible to use setup.
I’ve been using Green Thumb for over a decade. I checked out the same layout for Halo 4 and I’m sticking with it. Minimal changes. The only difference is it makes the Left Stick your Sprint and Crouch moves to B where it is on default. Changing Crouch to toggle alleviates having to move your thumb off the sticks for too long. Switch grenade moves to the D-Pad which is a simple touch.
Ever since Halo 3 i’ve been using Recon. It feels natural and makes sense to me and is a good classic option. I don’t like Reach’s default or Halo 4’s default, so i’m glad they brought Recon back.
recon for me
Recon all the way.
Same here Recon feels like the best way to go.
Default as every game I play.
Bumper Jumper.
While a lot of people like recon, that’s mainly because it’s more like older game defaults. Being the default layout doesn’t automatically make it the best.
Default master race.
If I was able to adapt from 2 to 3 to Reach, I don’t see why I can’t get used to 4’s default.

I always use normal. Generally the best controller layout.
for all other halos i like to use the controller layout where you air down your sights with rb and melee with right stick. I think its called green thumb.
Bumper Jumper
I used to use default until I heard people raving about bumper jumper in halo 3 and also that Bungie almost made it the default controls. So I tried it out and it took some getting used to, especially B to reload but once you get used to it it really is awesome. Jumping while still being able to aim is a huge advantage.
The only downside is AA is X which isn’t really a problem except for with the jet pack. But I have a Razer Onza (can remap buttons) so that isn’t an issue anymore.
recon, definantly recon, practice halo 3
