Since I don’t want people to say that I’m hating on Halo 5, I wanted to give my OPINION on what I think Halo 6 needs/should have
Game itself:
- Split screen ( I don’t particularly use it often, but I understand its importance to others. It’s the entire reason I even bought Halo originally hint)
Campaign:
- Master Chief should be in at least half the campaign if we’re playing as two characters
- Should be of decent length/grand scale considering the ending to Halo 5 (a good conclusion like Halo 3 was to the first trilogy)
- I feel that there should be no levels that are purposely only 2-5 minutes long. If anything, I feel like those area’s should be like a type of hidden area within an actual level. An Easter Egg if you will, that way it doesn’t disrupt the flow of the actual game play itself.
- Considering the fact that spoilers we’re now probably going to be fighting Cortana, I think that we need to have a few good emotional/memorable scenes having to do with the Chief and her (I would also like to see Halsey included).
- I would STRONGLY advise 343 not to sacrifice any characters/motives just for the sake of plot (ex: Halsey wanting revenge, Palmer being okay with Halsey, Jul Mdama sudden death just for the sake of story, etc). I’ve have many friends, including myself, who agree that characters in Halo 5 have been lowered to mere plot devices (ex: Arbitor)
- Would kindly ask that 343 bring back Blue Team and Fire Team Osiris in some way, shape, or form. They seemed to be just discarded at the end of the game (could be wrong about that)
- Bringing back old enemies would be a nice twist.
- Please bring back old features: Competitive scoring, level timer, Mission restart, etc
- Also, no more repetitive boss battles, PLEASE
Multiplayer:
- Should have varied/memorable maps (genuine new ones or remakes. Each map should have something unique and memorable, causing me to want to play on them again and again)
- Should contain BOTH a competitive and a social playlist. Each playlist should have at least 4-5 game modes (make special playlists for the weekend):
Competitive: Snipers, FFA, Doubles, Objective, Slayer, MLG
Social: Social Slayer (combination of objective/slayer gametypes), action sack, BTB, swat - Custom games should have the following options: Private game, Host game, Join game (and from there you have a filter that helps find you what you want)
- Forge needs to be available at start (and you should NOT need the internet to use it) and should have at least 3 LARGE blank canvases (or at least another forge world)
- Needs file share (similar to the one in Halo 3) and “most played/downloaded” feature that allows you to browse cool content made by the community
- Theater should include: Forge, multiplayer, custom games, and Campaign history. And NEEDS to be more than a single player lobby.
- Should be to take snapshots in theater mode as well as clips
- Power weapons (spartan laser, Incendiary Cannon, rocket launcher) need to be made one hit kills against vehicles. It’s was made them so feared in the first place
- Should have another gametype like Invasion or Warzone (Or both plus a new one)
- emblems should be unlocked at start
- Should be able to customize spartans/Elites body armor, helmet, shoulder, fore arms, shoulders, legs, knees, emblem
- Should be able to have a variety of ways to color your spartan and emblem (including spartan/elite visor/eyes)
- FORGE NEEDS BOTS (aim practice, machinimas, custom game AI partner, etc)
- Need hijacking to be as it used to be. In Halo 5, even the slightest graze from a vehicle instantly kills. The only time you’re able to hijack is when the vehicle isn’t moving.
Fire Fight:
- While Halo 6 doesn’t exactly need this, I think it would be a good idea to have some sort of survival game mode against AI. Survival modes are always addictive because it makes you want to beat your previous best. As well as brag to your friends that you did better than them in it.
- If Fire Fight were to return, it then NEEDS the Halo ODST formula, not Halo Reaches (a game which I personally think is under rated). The ODST fire fight actually made you fight to survive, while in Reach, you killed enemies just for the sake of it.
Play Incentive:
- Should be an armor award for beating campaign on Legendary (to show off that you took time to do something difficult in game)
- An achievement and/or piece of armor for getting to a certain rank in multiplayer (nothing too difficult, but would make people want to get better so they can earn it)
- Should be several armors that can only be unlocked by through doing certain things (ex: getting all achievements gets you Hayabusa or something)
- If REQ is to return, it should only contain different armor variations for the default armor gained through doing certain requirements (new armors can be added through DLC) as well as weapon camos and vehicle camos. This way it acts as a bonus to what you already have
Ideas for Armor Unlocks:
- If player beats campaign on normal, they get normal master chief helmet (just saying chiefs helmet as an example)
- If player beats campaign on Legendary, they get a torn/legendary/first gen version of the helmet (as well as body armor if not a whole body set)
- If player beats LASO (needs to be an option for that), they should get a flaming helmet, color of your choice (if team slayer, flame matches team color)
- If player gets all achievements, provide a unique body set armor that really stands out, shows off what the player did
- If player collects all skulls, give them the skull helmet
Bonus Skulls:
- bring back scarab gun
- skull the brings back sword flying from Halo 2 (I literally got classic Halo 2 just for that)
Hitboxes:
- Halo 6 SHOULD NOT have any bullet magnetism. While I understand wanting to help out new players, it isn’t fair to those who have taken time to get good at a game just to be taken out by people who don’t even have the cross hairs on the player. I cannot count how many times I’ve scored a head shot with a sniper in Halo 5 when it wasn’t a legitimate head shot
I’ll be adding more to this list when I remember more ideas, and add ideas given by others
But, what do you guys think so far?
it aggrivates me so much at shoulder charges guaranteed lock on. Thrusting doesn’t help vs it and apperently neither does trying to jump over it. Ground pounds tolerable but I still prefer it be removed.
