Halo 5 had its issues, but what could Halo 6 do to recover from Halo 5’s mistakes? Let’s talk about the parts of Halo that need to be changed.
Customization
Oh Halo 5 customization. How we hate you. This is the least important change of the list, but it would still be nice. Halo 5 had too much customization. Majority of the armor pieces were variants of the same armor set, just with a few added lines. If 343i wants to improve on this, they will have to use the Halo Reach style of customization (Note: I will reference to Halo Reach a fair amount in this, so be warned). The Halo reach style was if you bought the standard armor piece (Helmet for example) you would be able to buy the variants of the helmet. My suggestion would be to make the variants of the armor part of the basic item, then be able to choose which variant you want, instead of making there be over 200 sets of armor.
Campaign
So many people were disappointed with the Halo 5 story. So few Master Chief missions, and a character no one wanted to play (also no split-screen). With Halo 6, some things have been confirmed. There will be split-screen, you will only play as chief, but that’s all that was confirmed. If Halo 6 is to succeed, it needs a good story.
Multiplayer
The only issue I think there is with Halo 5 multiplayer is afk farmers. Just close your eyes and imagine this for a second. You’re In a game of breakout, you have to win one more game to get champion ranking. When you load in, the people on your team look pretty good. But one of them is just standing there, not helping. You lose the game, get onyx and not champion, and the afk person gets more loot than you. Pretty crappy right? If you’ve been in a game with afk farmers, you know what I’m talking about. I don’t know how 343i can fix that, but they need to find a way to throttle the amount of XP and REQ points these people get.
REQ system
The second to last thing they need to fix/delete is the REQ system. RNG is an annoying thing in the world of gaming, and when it comes to Halo, it’s a pain in the butt. The armor variants make it the most annoying thing because if you want a cool set, you just keep getting a variant of seeker or something (ugliest set in the game, anyone?) I think that the Halo Reach system works well. Playing for gear instead of RNG or money. Credits for armor sets is better (Ex: Fotus costs 2000000 credits. You must play awhile to get 2000000 credits, so getting it is a sign of talent and dedication). If they want to keep the REQ system, I have a solution for that. We all know the REQ weapons (SPNKR, Nornfang, etc.) and that you only get them through REQ packs. If people want REQ weapons they need to get REQ packs with REQ points or money.
Loadout
The final thing that needs to change is loadout. Everyone that has played longer has better loadout weapons (Bayonet AR and stuff). All 343i needs to do is make it so that
A: Loadout weapons don’t exist
B: Everyone has loadout weapons
That is my opinion on what Halo 6 needs, let me know what you think!
