What Halo 6 needs/should have

Made another topic on this earlier, however, I wanted to go further in depth with the points I made. I’ve honestly given up on Halo 5 (opinion) and have lost faith in 343i. And while I may not be pre-ordering the next game, I’ll still be getting it after day 1 due to the fact that Halo introduced me to the FPS genre. But until 343 shows me that their product (opinion) is WORTH the price shown, I will not be buying their games before release date. Finally, for anyone who says “You haven’t given up on Halo 5, you play it every day! It’s in your history”, you’re right, I do play it every day. Only reason being to create one last REQ pack opening video once I hit 1million points. After that, I’m done with multiplayer and will only be speedrunning the campaign as to try and be part of AGDQ.

***NOTE THIS IS ALL OPINION***

Lets get started (This may take a few posts):

Pre-order Bonuses (since there are people who are hard-core Halo collectors)

  • ANY DLC bonuses should be EXCLUSIVE to the editions (Halo Reaches recon, blue flames, elite armor). These should not be allowed to be earned in game. Otherwise, the incentive to get something unique is gone.
  • Statues should be PRE-BUILT in packaging. The Guardian model, as cool as it looks, still sits in my closet, waiting to be built (it’s a pain in the butt).
  • Offer more physical unique items. Halo Reach ( I believe) had twice the amount as Halo 5’s Legendary edition, and it still costed less to get
  • Those who pre-order the game should get a FREE download code of the game (optional, can be debated).
  • Bonus skull(?)

Campaign Mode:

  • Bring back “timer” feature
  • Bring back “Score” feature
  • Bring back “Restart mission” feature
  • Bring back “Save Checkpoint” feature (useful for speedrunners when practicing tricks)
  • Add in sword flying skull (sword flying is fun, why not)
  • Campaign should be at LEAST 10 missions long (average Halo length?)
  • There should be no levels where you simply walk around for 2min, make that an Easter Egg
  • MAKE Master Chief playable for MORE than 3 missions. He should be playable through the entire campaign, or, through at least HALF
  • You’ve said that Halo 5 was the darkest Halo to date, that was a lie. If you say that Halo 6 is dark, then it NEEDS death like in Halo 3. Gives more of an impact in the story
  • DO NOT toss away characters just for the sake of the story. DO NOT turn characters in mere plot device (Arbitor). Nothing kills a story more than a characters wasted potential and just saying “Because reasons”
  • PLEASE bring back Blue Team and Fire Team Osiris. They do not have to be crucial, but I would like to know what happened to them since they seemed discarded at the end.
  • If there is to be a major conflict between Chief and Cortana, I want to feel utterly shocked if something bad happens to/between them. I want to feel gutted in my Halo heart and cry like a little baby. (Basically, give us more impactful scenes)
  • SPLITSCREEN (got me into Halo in the first place

Multiplayer:

  • Need at least 12+ maps to start out with. Multiple maps should be able to be utilized within just about every playlist

  • Needs to have varied/memorable maps (genuine new ones or remakes. Each map should have something unique and memorable, causing me to want to play on them again and again. No forged remakes. That is cheap and lazy. The community can do that itself)

  • Should contain BOTH a competitive and a social playlist. Each playlist should have at least 4-5 game modes (make special playlists for the weekend):

  • Competitive: Snipers, FFA, Doubles, Objective, Slayer, MLG, Breakout - Social: Social Slayer (combination of objective/slayer gametypes), action sack, BTB, swat - War Games: Invasion/Invasion Slayer, Warzone/Warzone Assault, “New Game mode” (counts as a social playlist. It’s for pure fun)- Power weapons (spartan laser, Incendiary Cannon, rocket launcher) need to be made one hit kills against vehicles. It’s was made them so feared in the first place

  • Need hijacking to be as it used to be. In Halo 5, even the slightest graze from a vehicle instantly kills. The only time you’re able to hijack is when the vehicle isn’t moving

  • If you’re going to include sprint, don’t make regular maps feel so huge to traverse. Halo 5 was supposed to be fast paced and yet sprint feels like it does nothing.

Spartan/Elite Customization:

  • Each piece should be unique and cool in it’s own way

  • Should be able to customize: Helmet, visor (let use choose our own colors), armor, shoulders, wrists, knees, etc

  • There should be at least 10 default unique and cool armor sets at the beginning. (not 40,000. I don’t care about 2/3 of Halo 5’s. They all blur together)

  • Should be 5+ special unique armors that can only be acquired through certain tasks:

  • Beat Campaign on Legendary (1P) - Beat Campaign on Co-op Legendary (2-4P) - Log in 117 hours onto the game (optional) - Collect all Skulls - Collect all intel in story mode (if they have that still) - Get to a certain rank in multiplayer (nothing ridiculous, but high enough so that the player will want to keep playing), - Complete the game 100%- Bring back elites

  • Make ALL emblems at start unlocked by default (add more in dlc)

I don’t agree with all of the suggested vehicle changes, the vehicles feel too weak in Halo 5 in my opinion. I think the vehicles should act like power weapons that you can drive, the vehicles in Halo 5 can only take so much small arms fire until they die, which doesn’t make sense. I think either the vehicles should be much more powerful, or just not take damage from small arms fire. If they didn’t take damage from small arms fire then it would make sense to buff the power weapons to be effective against the vehicles.

Power weapon kills vehicle, vehicle kills small arms weaponry, small arms weaponry kills power weapon.

That’s what I think would work for Halo 6, because it is a rock paper scissors style combat system, which is what inspired Halo CEs’ weapons.

Halo 6 does not need anything. As long as 343i isn’t in charge, the game would turn out great somehow.
