What Halo 5's infection Needs. Discussion thread

Time to spitball ideas for infection, and HOPEFULLY 343 FINALY starts getting around to that. Anyway, here are some ideas I’d like them to add to halo’s infection;

Halo’s Zombie mode similar to the style of CoD Zombies. You start out as a UNSC marine in a Wargames when a Civilian Transport Ship comes out of slip space (not in Wargames it’s comes in almost hitting infinity!) Captain Lasky wants contact on the civilian carrier (not knowing that the covenant is inside the carrier, about to launch a virus into the Infinity’s Wargame Sims. The virus is shown in the Wargames as a rotting body that is visually appalling) after Lasky makes contact with the civilian transport ship, the virus is released onto the Infinity’s Wargames. (How it kills in the sim is standard zombie fair, but what happens as they die in the sim, the virus sends an electric plus to the user killing the person. [Game over man!]) There is no known way to counter the virus, (although if you do an Easter egg “mission” you can survive via escape, or go with endless horde mode.) Abel to customize how many rounds to take till evac arrives (if you just want to play a quick game) what round you start on, set wether it’s timed gameplay or based on rounds.

_Undead Nightmare: Hardcore Mode, the virus has more health and your Spartan armor dose not give you any extra health.
_Cannon Fodder: Easy killing, blastin’ and relaxin’
_Horde Mode: Standard Wave based Gameplay
_Timed Horde Mode: Endless virus atacks you, no breaks here.
_Campaign: Left 4 Dead Style where your moving from safehouse to safehouse scavenging along the way till you get to evac.

How this could be emplamented Now. (The horde mode anyway)
Take your Warzone assault map, have it as only the main base. The AI “virus” being UNSC but given a texture for the “undead” look. No weapon, new animations (for walking and hitting) and recording the sounds for the zombies (or just use the halo flood sounds). Set player model to that of the UNSC marine. This versions game modes; (you can spend your req points here to better outfit yourself agents the horde, no vehicles, no powerups, Loadouts and power weapons only)

Movemt similar to ODST, 2 hits your dead and when your in Spartan armor gives you normal movement and can take 5 hits

_Standard: 4 Players with the revive mechanic (from the campaign) vs horde. Holding out till evac, once evac is here they haft to get to the pelican to escape.
_Vs: 2 Teams of 4 survivors try to outlast the other team and get to evac, (separate bases) if both team make it to evac, then whoever has the most survivors wins.
_Hunted: 4 players as survivors, and 4 as the infected. Infected players are stronger than the virus horde, but slower. Consider them the “tank” (not l4d tank) while survivors hold out for evac as the fight the virus horde that try’s to consume them.
_Hunted Vs: Two teams of survivors try to outlast one another and get to evac while two teams of infected try to kill there prey before the other.
_Quarantine Zone: One Team of 16 vs a HUGE HORDE (AI) with only one life. Hold out for evac.
_Undead Assult: One Team of 24 agents hordes of undead (ai) in the standard Warzone assult. But instead of the infected destroying the power core, if your pushed back to the main base “last stand” will activate meaning you have your last life, you can still win by holding out till evac arrives. You loose if the horde pushes you back to your main base and kills all of your team. (Vehicles are allowed in this mode)

ps forge AI, cuz come on, it would make it easier for you guys since we will make the damn maps.
maybe a “beta” testing ground where 343 could test modes or something idk.

I’d agree with this, but I don’t want it to be a standard zombie mode. I’d rather it be with something Halo themed… The flood…

Having it be in the game would be a good start.

The campaign one would be loads of fun but I doubt it would be possible

This is a really great idea, and 343 should jump right onto it. I hope they all of it in, but this is like an entire game compared to what they’ve been doing.

I highly doubt 343 would make it like this, they will probably just make it the same as always and call it a job well done

Infection needs:

Alpha Zombies options

Slightly reduced shotgun effectiveness

No Spartan Charge

Top three or six players get a win on their stat tracking, not just number one.

I’m saying zombie for the sake of zombie, since the flood isn’t in the game (and not in the upcoming infection) it’s most likely (if they ever did this) be just the “infected”. Besides, this is something Added to infection. I’m not saying to replace it, ya know?

It needs the customisation of previous Halos. That is all. The community with the insanely powerful forge can now make almost anything. It also needs to be 12 or 16 player lobbies. More people, more fun.

The ideas you listed are great but they seem a little out there and by that I mean that 343 wouldn’t do any of that. There would be normal infection, and if we’re lucky, they could do something like a warzone infection but I have no clue how that would work, maybe a firefight/horde mode where you hold out against the flood and you can call out reqs in the rest time in between waves. Ocean you die, you become an infected and join the zombies team, including ai. The last person standing gets most req points, or something like that. That is the most, like, the VERY most thing i see them doing with infection and even that is out there.

Have you ever played infection before? It’s not wave based killing.

all it needs is as much customization as reach had.

I know, I just want to add more. In a way iinfection is an endless horde mode just player controlled,
