Dear 343,
The campaign in halo 5 is at least okay. I rate it 6.8/10 But I’m going to discuss the pros, and cons
Pros:
-addictive Co op gameplay
-Replay value (skulls)
- better peomethians
- FRIGGING SANGHELIOS!!!
- A bit of a nostalgia trip on MC’s missions.
Cons:
-Mediocre story
- not enough master chief
- short campaign
The ugly:
- It needs that organic halo 3 feel
- more expansive levels
- traditional halo campaign
- DON’T FORCE OG HALO PLAYERS TO USE THE NEW ABILITES!
- make the levels designed for both OG halo fans (classic gameplay) and new halo fans (Halo 5 gameplay)
I just needed to point that out
I don’t have any desire or motive to replay a single mission of Halo 5. Unless its defeating the kraken, but it got boring at least 2 times re-playing.
I could replay the covenant from H3, or Regret from H2 over and over and never get tired of it. 343 can make good art, skyboxe’s and stuff, but pls we need more storytelling and intresting characters and story,
Let’s get this sorted out first; there is no such thing as “better Prometheans”, all Prometheans are garbage.
The only reason I replay missions is for Intel and achievements, nothing more. I’ve played through CE somewhere between 80 and 100 times, no skulls, no Intel, no achievements, just raw campaign. Once I have all the achievements and intel in Halo 5, it is highly unlikely that I will ever touch its campaign again.
Actual open non-linear levels that actually require you to think, like H1 through reach, not just linear series of corridors that give the illusion of actually being open.
Let’s start with the obvious, no split screen.
Now that’s out of the way, I think there’s enough Master Chief for the story as it is, maybe we could have gotten more with a different/better story, but I think it fits. We’re supposed to be making a new connection with Locke and I’m fine with that. Also, I wish there were even more ways to approach each mission as it would increase it’s replay value.
I think the new abilities are fine, even for OG players. It’s a new game and there’s new skills to learn, it’s just part of it, and there needs to be reasons to use them and learn them in the campaign otherwise what’s the point? I did get the feeling that there’s a leaf that has been taken from another’s book though - that is the campaign only really serves to give you the skills to participate in the multiplayer.
You forgot no character or really story development. Cortana is evil is all we get.

Agree, and weekly challenges/awards for playing campaign, like during halo 4… also, more Exuberant Witness would be nice

You know how toxic the OG players can be like at times. That’s what I meant
