It needs to be Halo, meaning there needs to be a BR, 1-50 ranking system, and no armor abilities. Basically all Halo 4 needs to be is a combination of Halo 2 and Halo 3. It definitely needs to have throwback multiplayer maps (examples: guardian, beaver creek, the pit) The ranking system is the most crucial of all though and the reason Reach wasn’t all that great is because of the bad ranking system. I say the only thing to keep from Reach is the variety of armor customizations, but definitely not the DMR. It’s a great weapon, but it just doesn’t have that classic Halo feel that kept me playing for years. Oh yea, one last thing… bring back double EXP weekends!!
The ranking system is not the most crucial thing of all. There is so so so much more to a game than just a ranking system.
If only I had a nickel for every time I see a thread stating Halo 4 should ignore Reach…
I know it’s not the most important thing, but its a big factor in playability and wanting to play to work for something.
Since when did the BR being in the game define whether or not it is a “Halo” game. By your logic, Halo: C.E., Halo 3: ODST, Halo Wars, and Halo: Reach aren’t “Halo” games just because they don’t have the BR or TrueSkill.
Those aren’t what Halo 4 “NEEDS”, those are what you WANT. There’s so much more important things that define what makes a Halo game “Halo” other than a single weapon and TrueSkill.
nope.
