So. Lets say you could choose which group Halo 5 (343) would cater to. Which would you say?

If i got to choose, perhaps Halo 5 should cater to the forgers simply because i am an avid forger myself and having some large map and maybe an innovative editing system for the map it self and adding scripts into the maps would be fantastic.
But realistically i would a multitude of things from that list, like competitive of both types, something for casuals, forgers of course, something for machinama makers, and that’s all i can think of.
I just want to point out how daft it is to say 343i has to cater to any one group.
Competitive, Social and Casual can all be sufficiently taken care of if done right.
It was perfect in Halo 3 and it can be done once again.
Lastly, this thread does not belong in the Universe section. It belongs in General Discussion, or if this is solely focusing on multiplayer then maybe it could go in the matchmaking section even though Multiplayer forum is dedicated to Halo 4.
It shouldn’t have to cater to any one particular group of players. A game can be thoroughly enjoyed by anyone if it is designed correctly.

True
Halo 2 and Halo 3
for the most part-
They were great for every type of player and people played them for years
Halo if done correctly can be perfect for every type of player
It shouldn’t have to cater for one group. It can have both, AKA Halo 3.
@CrazyByDefault - Yeah, that’s what Halo 4 was supposed to be and look what happened.
Please don’t try to pretend that the competitive community can suffice with standard game settings, we wont. Ever.
To put it simple cater to everyone and make it balanced. To the competitive, casual and Forgers alike.
Everyone except cod fans, cuz you know, they can go play cod. I want to play halo…
Where’s the “Everyone” option? No single group should be catered to, I don’t care how much more “Important” they think they are. The idea of game development is to create a game that pleases EVERYONE in EVERY GROUP. The idea of catering to a single group should be taboo to the community, not some god forsaken pipe dream. We’re all in the same -Yoink!- community, we as a WHOLE should be catered to.
I was unaware that a buffet had to cater to any one group.

So far, it is! It’s a Vegetarian Buffet (Xbox), and the Meatarians (PC) of the party are invited to the buffet, but they have to have vegetarian foods.

Ack, the analogy is good. However we don’t eat salad, we eat what eats salad. Apex predator FTW! Down with salad (unless it’s used to garnish a meatburger!

LOL, yes, well it was either that or say “fish lovers vs None fish lovers”, and I’m one of those who is allergic to fish…
But my point is Halo is already being catered to one group, Xbox.
