What goes through your head, Assault Rifle users, when you kill someone with that gun? I’m curious if Assault Rifle users think that they are, in any way, shape, or form, skillful at this game. I wonder if they somehow get really giddy at the fact the game handed them a kill with the AR’s curving bullets. I want to get into the psyche of an Assault Rifle user and figure out what makes them tick when they get a kill with a gun that has a kill time comparable to a more skill based weapon, but is much easier to use.
I’ll answer my question first. When I get a kill with this gun, I feel like that when I die next my Spartan will be sent to Halo hell because of the sin I committed against skillful gameplay.
I only use an AR if my dreaded DMR has ran outta bullets & thats the nearest gun to me…
& with regards how I feel when I kill someone running towards me with there gun blazing erm thank fook I got him 1st …
Should we all just use magnums now?
Would that make you happy?
I have no problem with just using a magnum as heaven forbid I use a boltshot!
I, for one, have a hard time distinguishing the AR from the SAW. They both seem to be equally strong.
Your favorite weapon is the DMR.
Arguement invalid.
(Just saying…)
What goes through your head by making a thread like this? Do you think you’re badass or skillful? Do you think you’re smart?
Go back to your bed kid, it’s getting late.

SAW has better effective range, and more damage. Damage Boosted AR might be better though.

To be blunt, hardly any weapon in default settings takes much aiming skill. The gun with the least amount of skill involved at all is the Assault Rifle. Honestly, when someone kills me with it, I accept the fact that the only way they can get a kill is when mommy 343i holds their hand.
I ask the same thing when I come across a DMR user, OP.
They’ll use what they’ll use. Not their fault this game is easy as it is, and they get to decide what they spawn with. If they want to spawn with AR jetpacks and suicide themselves at the king (me) in regicide, and end up winning the match with 17k - 27 deaths and 8 regicides, hey fine by me.
I for one feel cheap using the DMR or the AR, so I just stick with my BR-Carbine-LR-Suppressor.
If they want to use a weapon that rewards easy gameplay, whatever. It’ll never feel as good as outshooting a DMR user with a BR at long range.
And honestly OP, stop question peoples fun.
Let their fun be their fun (so long as it’s within the rules.) I hate that a lot of Halo players get to deem what should be allowed and what shouldn’t in a code of conduct.
If you don’t like AR’s, don’t use 'em. But don’t go around on your high horse decreeing that AR’s should be banned because you don’t like to use them.

Except the AR can’t 5-shot cross-map someone on virtually any map.

You still have to vaguely aim, unlike with the AR.

So?
If you are using an auto, you first have to figure out how to close the distance.

At least the Assault Rifle only works at it’s intended range, and that’s it.

Exactly.

Exactly. Vaguely.
Sweep your reticule over them, and when it gets red, pull the trigger. All you have to hit is 1 bullet and 1/4 of their shields are gone.
Not only that, but it’s that effective at almost any range, with ungodly magnetism even outside of red reticule range.
At least with the AR they have to aim consistently on their target, and their weapon will never be useful outside of close-mid range, unlike the DMR.
The AR can barely outshoot a DMR/BR in its ideal range and outside that very limited range it has no hope,so yeah Im happy to get kills with it.
I personally feel like I used a weapon that would give me an advantage in the given situation/range. The AR actually winning at close range seems legit to me. In some ways more so than a shotgun or sword. Thats just me though.
Skill based weapons LOL.Spam trigger like monkey is skill now?.
using AR for commendation
Another Precision weapon user got a little too close to this close range gun and died?
Someone call a wambulance.
