I just played episode 4 today, and i watched the cinematic, and what intrigued me, was when Halsey told the spartan the story of the Prometheans. To which she continues, “What gifts, if they have, do the prometheans have to offer?” So i aksed myself that question
Lets switch back to the campaign in the cinematic where John says “the prometheans…theyre human” and then cortana says in the next level “the didact created the prometheans using ancient humans”.
So if we put the puzzle together, the prometheans can revive their ancient human personalities and memories just as Chakas did when he was 343. The ancient humans can give us the cure to the flood as well as their technology as to how they could have defeated the forerunners, and prepare us for the war the didact and or the test the precursors have in store for us. The gift of the prometheans, is information and technology of the ancient humans.
Also form spartan ops, the course where i think this campaign is headed to, is towards a story with the librarian. What she also has in store for us. Or even how to find the ancient humans if theyre hiding as well, as well as how to revive the personalities of the ancient human prometheans.
It’s a good theory. One thing to note though (Decepticon Cobra mentioned this in another thread) is the fact that the humans that were devolved and primitive. There’s a good chance if they were restored they wouldn’t have any information.
well, thats if their derived Gea were composed and placed as gea, so we could see the ancient humans prometheans. Plus the devolved ones had gea as well, so we still could get information from them nonetheless.
i assume that the process of creating a human-promethan knight (the first batch were FR) is different than the process Chakas underwent. he was a 1:1 copy of his human mind, which cannot be the case for the promethan knight. one doesn’t take enemy farmers, put them in a shiny armor and get himself an army that way - their minds must’ve been altered to follow orders (pretty much shown as they turn all orange once the Didact is freed, just like that he assumes direct control.
but even if these Knights could be “jailbreaked”, as switch104 already pointed out: the humans used for PKs were the “dumbed down” version of the ancient human empire’s citizens: no technological and only a tiny bit of historical information (in the form of myths and sagas) are to be scavenged from them.
Gei are FR tech. they won’t shed any light on the Ancient Human tech or the cure for the flood (if there really ever was one) either. also: you don’t need an ancient human to find gei, as they’ve been passed on over generations. modern man carries them too (verified: MC’s geas activated by the Librarian, Halsey finds her geas in Cortana’s code in the first audiolog after you crash on requiem).
