What games are you looking forward to?

I’ve been looking for some new games to play, because I am utterly done with Halo 5. It’s alright, but there wasn’t enough to keep me for a year, yet I managed to stretch my time on the game to about 15 months. I need something new to play now, before I start looking at Halo with nothing but resentment. I’ve been looking at some current releases, but also towards the future, because there seems to be a decent roster of games coming out soon. So if you have any suggestions to play/look forward to, or if you’re looking to a new release yourself, let us know!

Quick note these are all obvs Xbone games.

Games I own (that I play/enjoy):

  • Halo 5 - Halo Reach - Gears of War 4 - Overwatch - Elder Scrolls Online - Forza Horizon - The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim 3 (special edition) - Red Dead Redemption - Diablo 3 - Life is Strange (dat soundtrack tho <3)Game releases I’m looking forward to:

  • Middle-Earth: Shadow of War - Call of Duty: WWII - Battlefront II - Red Dead Redemption 2 - Kingdom Come: Deliverance - Life is Strange: Before the StormReleased games I want:

  • Stardew Valley - Halo Wars 2 - Don’t Starve - Alien: Isolation

Not looking forward to Destiny 2 because I hated the first one, and Halo 6 hasn’t been announced.

ya but halo 6 could still be pretty good

I know there’s hasn’t been any official news yet about Halo 6 I think but I’m really looking forward to it. The games I own are COD Black ops 3, DOOM, DOOM 3 BFG Edition Halo 5 and Halo TMCC but I’m mainly playing Halo 5 and MCC a lot since Halo is all I really play.

If you can play 360 games that aren’t yet backwards compatible, I recommend and arcade game called Hydrophobia. If it’s X1 only - Unravel and Ori are 2 really nice games. Ori’s soundtrack is really good

Last year I burned myself out on all FPS games so I got a stealth game: Dishonored. The change of pace from fast action to methodical stealth was exactly what I needed. Also, the dev behind life is Strange is making a game called Vampyr, I’m interested in getting that once it comes out.

That’s a good shout, actually. I forgot to list DOOM but I’ve really wanted to play that for some time now.

I hear praise for Ori’s soundtrack all the time. In some circles it has an almost legendary weight to it.

I very vaguely remember the reveal stuff for Vampyr, was a release date or any other information released for the game? As for Dishonoured, I love that game, but it’s in such a niche of playstyle for me that in the last month I’ve installed and uninstalled it six times, just because I never get round to playing it because I’m not in the mood. Still a great game though.

Not trying to change your mind if you’re set on taking a Halo break, but I thought I’d at least mention the reason I still play it is because of firefight. It’s hard to resent that mode especially when you have the announcer pack. Just my two cents

The only new release I’m currently looking forward to is Metroid Prime 4. I highly recommend trying out the Metroid Prime Trilogy.

Mostly I spend about two days or so on each game, and switch to the next. The new releases will certainly push some of my current games out of rotation. I don’t much play Gears nowadays because my usual team has all left the game, and it’s not very fun solo. Forza Horizon and Reach are niche games that I’ll jump into maybe once a week for a short session. Most of my time gets soaked into ESO and Halo.

NFS Most Wanted is a great game, although it’s online is dead now. The servers might actually be down. But I thoroughly enjoyed soaking maybe 50 hours into the singleplayer. There isn’t much replay value, just a loooot of content (races/cars/challenges/etc.) to keep you going.

I find some games getting just for the sake of having a title that received lots of praise. Multiplayer isn’t the most important thing to me when it comes to car games.

Battlefield Hardline
Forza 6 and Horizon 3
Overwatch
Star Wars Battlefront 2015

Battlefield 2018(No news yet other than it being confirmed)
Battlefield 1 DLC(Which I already own but need to wait for the release)

Looking forward to Shadow of War, definitely. Though it’s a long way off, Anthem seems interesting. I have the Metro games but haven’t finished them; Metro Exodus had a cool trailer but I was turned off by the use of music from 28 Days Later seemingly without credit. But I’m less excited for Xbox stuff right now and more looking to get into the Switch. If I could find a damn console, I’d go pick up Zelda immediately, and I’m also excited for the upcoming Metroid Prime 4.

I actually haven’t played games much this week because I found out that season 1-8 of 24 are on the Amazon TV app. I binged through season 1 over 2.5 days. Such a good show.

Not looking forward to many Madden 18 being what I’m most excited for NBA 2k18 WWII and Destiny 2 right now is all that has my interest.

Looking Forward To:

  • Battlefront II - Metro: Exodus - Red Dead Redemption 2 - God of War - Uncharted: The Lost Legacy - Cuphead - The Last Night - RuinerGames Released That I’d Like To Try:

  • Horizon: Zero Dawn - Wipeout: The Omega Collection - Dishonored 2 - Prey [2017] - Metro: 2033 Redux and Metro: Last Light Redux - Forza Horizon 3As far as suggestions go, I’d highly recommend both DOOM [2016] and Titanfall 2, both are fantastic shooters and deserve every player they can get.
I’d also recommend any of the main Batman: Arkham games, especially as you can get the ‘Return to Arkham’ remaster of the original two games and all of their DLC for cheap these days.
The Bioshock Collection is a good option if you’ve ever been interested in that series, (I only own Infinite personally but it was a blast and I recommend it even as a standalone), and Tomb Raider [2013] is pretty good as well, though I can’t vouch for its sequel personally.
Oh, and the Mass Effect Trilogy. ME1 has some quirks, and 3’s ending isn’t great, but the series as a whole is a hell of a ride and one I’d highly recommend.
