I would like to see the return of dual-wielding and playable Elites.
Tons of multiplayer maps made by 343 and for those maps to have some Easter eggs like the old bungie maps.
The number 1 thing I want to return is my Gungnir armor, the one new thing I want added is a mission where you drop from an ODST Pod and have to move your pod to dodge incoming fire.
I want aim mechanics to return from halo 5… I spent a long time finding my fav look sensitivity and if they change it up–I’m breaking my Xbox for real (Joking of course)
Lots of I stuff I can say here, but I want ADS style zooming animation to be removed… completely! From all weapons and the older style zoom (but updated) to be back. I also want multiplayer maps to have interactive environments like H2A had. It’s just so much fun to drop ice down onto someone or give yourself cover or whatever. Very satisfying!!

aiming mechanics could you explain?
Would love to see the following return:
Would love to see the following removed:
Broadly speaking I would prefer adding more depth to the overall game rather than front-loading the game with a bunch of additional core mechanics.
CE is always the model for me in that regard, despite the fairly simple controls it feels like there is always something to learn.
So with that in mind lets bring back:
*Quick Camo: Meaning certain weapons return to full camo states faster than others. Getting the best use of camo should require different types of weapon choices.
*2 Layer Overshield with short invulnerable window. Overshield is burned so quickly in most Halo games it is a wonder anyone even bothers sometimes. 2 layers of overshield brings a much bigger incentive to pick one up and to grab plasma weapons to counter it. The short invulnerability is so we can potentially pull off stuff like this. Also a nice example of how quick camo works with the AR.
*Plasma Stun: Like CE the automatic plasma weapon should stun players to prevent escape. The stunning ability while powerful is tempered by relatively low DPS.
*“Combat Evolved:” All grenades should be able to bounce around weapons and powerups instead of being oddly limited to stickies.
*Static Timers: Every weapon and power up that matters should be on a static timer. A faster and more consistent respawn timer for important items leads to faster paced games with more player movement. Short dynamic timers for minor items are fine, but we could just as easily have short static timers as well.
*No melee lunge: Every weapon should have a unique melee range and speed so melee fights require some forethought and actual aim to land.
*Shields VS Health Damage: It seems like almost every Halo game post-CE has almost abandoned the concept of Plasma/Energy weapons doing additional damage to shields while projectile weapons did more damage to underlying health. By the time we get to Halo 5 this mechanic is entirely gone with the exception of the Plasma Pistol and later the Brute PR. Shield/Health mechanic is one of Halo’s more unique characteristics and we should leverage it more not less.
Projectile weapons: Good against unshielded Covenant, Humans, Flood.
Plasma/Energy Weapons: Good against Energy Shields, Sentinels, Prometheans.
Hardlight/Explosives/Melee*: Neutral Damage, does the same damage to shields and health. Flood highly resistant to standard melee attacks that lack bayonets.
As far as things I don’t want to see, most them have been discussed to death, so I’m just going to limit myself and say Smart Scope needs to be removed more than just about anything else. Whether you like the aesthetics or not, giving all weapons the ability to scope removes an important balancing tool and makes the sandbox feel dull and repetitive as a result.

Same aiming from H5 to infinite… For example, halo reach has sway and is different. I think the speed of the aim, sway (zero for H5) and aim assist should be close to identical.
Otherwise, there is no point in playing H5 anymore bc I said that the aim mechanics are the only thing that is transferable to infinite… Thus, there is really no need to try and get better at H5; only, get your shot perfect.
If this is not the case then I would like to know and I will see when the beta comes out… There might be some other things that are (for sure) transferred from H5 to infinite

Liked the post for this bit alone. Compared to other shooters, Halo is unique in how often Melee plays a part in fights. It’s a shame, then, that the current mechanics trivialize close-range combat so much. Like, it’s a shooter–the game is about aiming at people and dodging things! It’s not crazy to think we should be able to dodge melee, too, ya know? I’m kinda astonished that melee lunge has remained in the series for this long. At the very least, they should allow us to disable lunge in custom settings.
Weapons having unique melee traits would be a great bonus, by the way. It would make weapons feel more distinct, and could even serve as a balancing mechanism.
