What Forge Needs Now - Not What You Would Expect

MOR was another amazing update for Forge. Forge is better now than I could have imagined before Halo 5 launched. At this point it would be greedy to ask of anything else other than bug fixes within Forge mode, but there is something outside of Forge mode that can drastically improve and expand the content coming out of Forge.
Since we first got Forge in Halo 3, it has always had a partner in crime. That partner is Custom Gametype options. These two done well together allow you to play the game in an almost any way you can think of. Halo 5 has seen a huge advancement in Forge, but is has also seen a setback in Custom Gametypes. It is understandable that the time spent to improve Forge left less time for Custom Gametypes.
Forge without Custom Gametypes is like eating spaghetti with your hands, like having an expensive set of drums but no drumsticks, like Han Solo without Chewbacca. Yes, the spaghetti would still taste good, the drum set would look cool, and Han Solo would still be awesome, but there would just be something important missing for all of those.
I am talking about the the game options within the existing Gametypes. Let’s leave the discussion of new Gametypes to another thread. New Gametypes probably take a lot of time to build and test. I think it would be easier to make adjustments to the settings of existing Gametypes.
In Halo 3, several of my friends and I came up with a gametype that involved leader traits, regenerating grenades, and many scoring options including -5 points for a killing spree. Unfortunately, you can’t do any of that along with many other things in Halo 5.
To clarify, this is not a complaint thread. This is a suggestion to slowly start adding a few custom game options with each update, in general I am happy with Halo 5 in its current state. I am posting this because 343 does listen. In the livestream, they talked about how they included many options for infection because they know people use infection for more than zombie Gametypes. When MOR released, someone posted about how important vehicle options were not available. Within a few hours 343 responded. This is the perfect time to bring up this topic. If you read this thread please post here. If we have enough posts, maybe 343 will see it and try to add a few more options in a future update.

I heard they added lightning strikes that kill players in contact?! Is that true. I’m not a big forger so I don’t even know how to find that

The missing game options are definitely an issue, I hope they add some to the custom game options.

Here you go. It’s near the end of the video.

I think what they should add is a save/duplication menu for in case you accidentally delete something you can open the menu and pull it out of a saved list.

posting in english class ftw

I 100% agree with you OP about Custom Game options.

A Custom Game Browser would also be siiiiick for Forgers. I don’t think it would hurt MM, as Custom Games don’t reward XP, RP, or count towards Commendations; so players are still heavily encouraged to play MM if they want to advance their character at all in the game.

It’d also do wonders for many communities other than Forgers, like niche communities that probably won’t get a playlist (sprintless throwback playlist for example).

That is a good point. Additional custom game options would be good for more than just forgers

That would make forge alot better

That would be cool, but I was hoping to keep this threads discussion to how custom game options can help forge.
