What FIREFIGHT should have?

Everyones ranting on about multiplayer, yet noone gives a thought about firefight :’(

So I desided to do a short list of things i want to see in halo 4’s fire fight.
Feel free to add to it

P.S. i havent been on here since last year XD

anyway:
-Up to either 8 or 16 players.

-Large, small, medium maps. For example, a large outdoor map that supports a minimum of 8 players and can go up to 16, or a tight 2-man indoor corridor-defence

-AI again, but:
–With ability to turn on and off
–more Variety, eg marines, More odsts, civilians
–Sentinels? For a forerunner themed map like '04

-ability to defend as an elite vs humans, flood or ancient threat (see below)
–ability to have Grunts etc. as AI if they do this
–covenant themed map?

-Covenant remnants, Flood or “new threat” all as enemy types
–flood-fight and ancient threat as unlockables? (maybe after one has to complete the campaign, so one does not get spoiers?)

Phew, a tangent there XD So what are you’re thoughts?

Did anyone actually play firefight?

Something more like Zombies (yeah, from CoD, get over it). I loved the way they actually gave their maps atmosphere, and scattered around clues to a backstory. Halo could do with the same ideas - should have used them from the start, to be honest. Combat Evolved was all about the mystery of exploring an enigmatic new world, no idea where that idea went with the later games, but it sounds like 343’s bringing the CE vibe back and I hope this extends to Firefight.

I’d like firefight versus to return too… just not pitting me against Spartans OS and I’m a three headshot, normal difficulty for my companions, kill…

Should be like Halo 1’s Rockslide Megabattle

With marine buddies and everything.

Larger scale would be fine enough for me. One big map, a few more players, multiple structures/zones, weapon and vehicle drop locations done like Invasion Slayer (defend a location to receive goodies) to encourage travel around the map (with Pelicans deliveries of course and Halo 2 style Pelican weapon pod spam). And moar vehicular carnage.

I would love to see an endless-defense game. Seriously, I think it would be AMAZING!

Example…

[BASE]------area filled with crates, barries, etc-------[ENEMY SPAWN]

Asymmetric for the intention that we are not meant to travel out, but rather focus on the inner defenses of our base.

Turret(s) set up in strategically, useful, positions. A small armory consisting of weapons to fit the game-type. For example, Survival Pro could consist of Sniper Rifles, BR, Pistols, and AR’s. Whereas Survival (REG) could consist of a couple Rocket Launchers, Grenade Launchers (Just using reach as an example, due to not knowing what weapons we’ll see,) Shotguns, and all of the above weapons.

As each round progresses, enemy size, and difficulty increase, as well as an increase in their numbers. It could play through exactly like Horde from Gears in this aspect.

As each round progress as well, a limited amount of ammunition could be withdrawn between rounds from the “Armory.” As the rounds get higher, the amount of ammunition dispensed is lessened as well.

Similarly, it could function like Invasion does now, but as defense only to NPC characters whom would play the offense.

The Armory would emphasize the need to stay close to base, resulting in a much more legitimate sense of defense game-play.

The game ends when each character dies. One life per person on Survival Pro, or two-five lives, for regular game-play.

I would compare it to Horde Mode on Gears, but without defensive building (It would ruin Halo) or the ability to move from area to area to establish a base. I would also compare it to Invasion more-so, but without the use of offensive players and only ONE point of defense.

The idea is to be locked in, with no chance of survival. Strictly kills/points, and a fight to the end.

No? LOL, I kind of ranted. It’s a fun idea, but hey… It’s my two cents!

i also want a forgable firefight.

and the ability for community firefight maps for multiplayer, but 343 should only accept them if they are balanced.

but just imagine, you could choose to make the map super easy for just fun with a huge building, or if you want, delete everything and have an open map for a real challenge.

what i would want for the forgable firefight:
-covenant squad spawn points
-vehicle spawn points (limited to vehicles available to that map already)
-Scenery change
-building blocks to build bases
-friendly AI spawn points (if AI are there)

My thoughts are 343 has enough people to not destroy firefight. Also, this is not a PC game, so we are limited in resources. A game of 8 would likely crash the game (or run very slowly) unless they cut back on how many enemy AI could spawn at one time.
