What Factions Do You Want???

I really want multiple factions play from in this game. Obviously UNSC and Covenant but maybe even the flood would be a nice touch. As much as I personally don’t want to see them, it would be a nice bonus for multiplayer to add a Promethean faction as well.

For the UNSC we’ll probably already have Cutter and Andres, and we’ll have to add a new spot to fill the void for Forge. The covenant can obviously have a new chieftan, hopefully a new Prophet and I’m hoping for a new Arbiter personally. The flood could have a gravemind leader and just maybe keep it at that. One leader but multiple abilities to kinda match another player in a one v one match. And the forerunner faction could have the Didact, (I know for story it wouldn’t make sense but it would add an interesting new dynamic to the game)

Yeah Promethean and Flood factions would be pretty awesome.
Maybe make the Flood play kind of like the Zerg race did in StarCraft II.
Looking forward to what they come up with!

Jul Mdama Covenant
UNSC
Brutes
Prometheans
Innies

Being that it is Halo, it’s more likely that the focus will remain on the UNSC and the Covenent; both with sub-factions. Halo Wars was not attempting to be another Starcraft, and as such, it has no need to explore the playability or dedicated storylines of the other races like Prometheans, Forerunners, or Flood.

I think it’s much more likely to see a maximum of 3 races (UNSC, Covenant, and Promethean), and probably only 2 realistically (UNSC, Covenant). From those two probable races, it’s likely (IMO) to see subfactions, much like as already been mentioned before.

Additionally, if Halo Wars 2 multiplayer is going to follow the trend of pretending to be canon, races like Forerunner and Promethean will be highly unlikely due to time-frame constraints, as the trailer has indicated that we are still dealing with the crew of the Spirit of Fire, implying that Halo Wars 2 will take place well before Halo 5.

Just my thoughts.

I would honestly love the introduction of a Promethean or Brute faction. The characters, vehicles, and leaders are all there from previous halo games.

If you’ve kept up with the latest novels and such, you’ll notice that currently the spirit of fire crew is still in cryo sleep and has a single flood spire aboard(keep in mind this is around 2558. And considering the crew is not out of cryo and fighting, it’s likely to assume this is gonna happen around Halo 5’s timeline or further down the road. So seeing the promeatheans and flood seems very likely

Isn’t the SoF discovered in Halo: Escalation, derelict? Which takes place before Halo 5?

Of course

UNSC, Covenant, Promethean’s(if possible), well any factions will be cool with me, I honestly don’t have a preference, I only typed in of the factions that I do & would love to see in Halo Wars 2.

UNSC, Covenant, Flood, Forerunners as mains. Rebels and other smaller groups would be cool if they could actually build themselves up instead of just being there.

The Flood, Humans, Brutes, and maybe forerunners.

UNSC- Captain Cutter/Anders/S-092 Jorome
Covenant- Brute chieftain/and two others
Flood- Gravemind
Forerunner- Ur Didact/Cortana
Insurrection- Admiral Cole

Spoiler

UNSC
Covenant
Insurrectionists
Prometheans (maybe)
Flood (maybe)

They were in cryo though.

I would also like to see a little bit of odst and for another person I would like to see would be Jun.

For the UNSC I tend to concur that we will have Anders and Cutter again as heroes, but Jerome (Red Team Leader) would be the fill-in. I would like to see something similar to the Covenant where we can actually call these heroes out rather than just use their abilities and special units.
For the Covenant we would still have the Brute Chieftan (would this be Tartarus’ uncle or Tartarus himself?) and the Prophet of Regret, as we know he does not die for a couple of decades. The Arbiter is dead and we know the next Arbiter is Thel Vadumee (or later Vadam) and that does not come until after Reach and the destruction of Alpha Halo so a third hero for the Covenant for me at least is a mystery. I think the logical choice would be a capital space ship Shipmaster, likely Sanghieli. This is speculation but plausible.
As for other factions I am not too sure. I do not see Forerunners being playable because the discovery of the Prometheans comes way, way after even Reach, but I also must consider that the Spirit of Fire is very far from the rest of the Fleet so after they destroyed the Shielf World the Prometheans could be called on to avenge and further protect Forerunner assets around it. For leaders they could have Warden Eternal (we know he has seemingly infinite bodies and is also seemingly omnipresent at Forerunner installations), and perhaps a Monitor from an Installation. As far as a third hero goes I cannot fathom anything except an Ancilla, the Forerunner version of AI’s that can inhabit Forerunner armor so it could be mobile.
As far as the Flood, I don’t believe as a faction it should be playable. Many people will disagree with me, but I just don’t like it. They have no vehicular choices, only one ‘hero unit’ to speak of, the (or a, I suppose) Gravemind, and no buildings to speak of. Being able to take over infantry would be their only real ability other than simply killing. They could not inhabit vehicles because they are not living, but they could capture the crews and subsequently use their knowledge to use them. In that way there could be balance achieved. Also, as an extreme Halo fan, I still love the Flood being that omnipresent third party. We did not see them in Halo 4 or Halo 5, but I will welcome them back in Halo Wars 2. We can logically assume that because of the Legendary Ending cutscene of a differen Ring that the flood will make a return in Halo 6.

Please keep in mind that all of this is pure speculation that I did my best to think of from my knowledge of the Halo universe coming from the novels and the games themselves.

Flood and prometheans

Covenant, UNC, and Prometheans seem like the most likely choices. I wouldn’t be too surprised if we only got two playable factions though as 3 would take a lot more development time and i’m not sure how ambitious they are with this new Halo Wars. Hell I don’t think we even have a single gameplay video or screenshot from the game. We know literally nothing about it so far.
