What Exactly is Bloom???

On the TU Beta they have a Zero Bloom Slayer DMRs but i don’t know what the changes are. People say that one of these 2 stop people from firing as fast as possible so they do more damage but in both zero bloom or bloom i feel like it hasn’t changed. I pace my shots and i am quite accurate that is why i am really good at Slayer DMRs and SWAT but when i am pacing my shots and my opponent fires as fast as it allows he always kills me , even if i start firing a second before. If Bungie had wanted to create a precision weapon you need to do it so you pace your shots for quick and controlled kills , like the sniper rifle , that has it so if you fire as fast as it allows it effects your aim. I hate how the DMR (A medium to long range rifle) is used alot in close quarter combat. The DMR and Magnum are my favourite 2 weapons because they take more skill which alot of people do not have. So if anyone could please explain exactly i would appreciate it and i hope 343 sort this gun out which Bungie had intended it to be.

Thanks.

from what i know, bloom is when the gun stops being very accurate after multiple shots.

bloom is the act of your reticule getting bigger when shots are fired faster than the optimal rate of fire(A.K.A. bloom) the faster you fire the less accurate the shot will be. without bloom however you can shoot at the maximum rate of fire without sacrificing any accuracy when shooting.

bloom is not like by many on the community forums b/c when shooting at close range, you can be less accurate and still win a battle.

for instance if you have your reticule on someones face and simply spam the trigger at close range, those shots have a greater chance to hit the guys face than if you were further away from the guy thus making the accuracy involved with bloom inconsistent.

Basically adds more luck to the guy spamming at close range. Those who utilize the proper cadence (timing) at long range will always win over those who spam the trigger. This didn’t happen in h3 as you could shoot as fast as you wanted whether you were close range or long range.

Thank you , so your saying if i use it from long range i will always win but if i use it close range i will have less chance at winning. Good thing that Team SWAT is only one shot to the head but you have to pace your shot or you don’t get a kill at all.

IEpic IMurph if u say that bloom makes it less accurate ur a spammer who has no skill(take ur time when shoting)

Bloom is just the graphical representation of the accuracy of a weapon. What the community complains about is actually called Bullet Spread. Bloom just makes it so you can SEE what the Bullet spread will be.

everything above my post is wrong. Bloom is the consequence for making a deal with the devil.

Bloom is the increasing margin of error that occurs after shot. It resets at a rate unique to each weapon that uses it.
Bloom can be invisible or visible.
In Reach, it is the inner circles of the NR and DMR, while the Pistol and AR are represented by their cross-hairs.
If the cross-hairs of the rest Pistol were as tight as the AR’s, it would be as precise as the rest DMR.
An AR at rest and 3-shot burst will fire those shots in a location of the same area the Pistol with each shot.
The ZB/rest NR is more precise than the ZB/rest DMR but is a projectile. It benefits from short-range bullet magnetism that homes in on the head much like the CE-Pistol and H3BR, the DMR does not.
