What ever happened to the Halo community?

I can’t believe how rotten the Halo community is nowadays. All everyone does is complain, and complain, and COMPLAIN. Why can’t anyone just be humble and have a civil conversation with one another?

It’s one thing to post constructive criticism on threads, but it’s another to bash and argue with others. I’m tired of people rehashing the same old “sprint should be removed from Halo” thread. We’ve hear this damn argument well over a million times. Stop complaining and deal with it. Sprint is here to stay. Quit whining about it and just move on already.

I don’t see enough posts about the positive aspects of Halo 5, all I see are people complaining about the game. If you don’t like it, don’t play it. I’m tired of all the arguing that goes on here on Waypoint. If you’re going to complain, be civil about it. Kudos to all of you that frequently post positive things about the game.

complaining about complainers is worse soooooo ya. Waste of a post honestly.

“Hey lets be toxic and attack critics, that will make the forums a better place!”

This is exactly what I’m talking about. Grow up and be civil.

You’re the prime example of this correct?

He’s just pointing out what you basically said.

Anyway, complaining about complaining never got anyone anywhere.

As much as I agree and wish that there were more civil discussions than complaints. We can’t change it. All we can do is be what we want to see. Try to make threads and discussions that are deep and thought provoking. And ignore those who seek trouble from others. Plus, sometimes the one seeking trouble aren’t even attacking. We’ve just gotten so used to people being toxic towards certain topics. There’s a fine line between complaining and pointing out the problem(s) that needs to be addressed. We just need to read more carefully into what people say before we approach them with toxic, inappropriate, and uncivil comments.

Oh, and forewarning, expect a Monitor to lock this thread saying something like, “Complaining about complainers? Tsk tsk tsk…” No hate, but it’s the rules.

My vote’s on Viper Skills…

EDIT: Came back to this post and saw that it got even worse.

As Vergil once said, “Keep It Clean”

What do you mean nowadays? I don’t know how long you’ve been around here, but it has pretty much always been like this. Actually, there was even more complaining in the old days, and it got worse because people could get away with much more heated debates then now.

You’re the one being uncivil in the first place. Instead of engaging people in discussion you just tell them to quit whining and move on.

Do you really expect me to say, “could you please stop complaining?” No.

Yeah, that’s what I was gonna say. He must’ve missed the Bungie.net days.

See? You’re arguing. Plaguing Waypoint won’t help.

I’m calling troll, he can’t be this stupid.

You’re literally attacking a critic too.

Complaining about complaining, this will be locked. Very constructive op, I like it, well thought out.

Calling people stupid only makes you look immature.

I obviously don’t speak for everyone, but I do think I speak for many when I say this.

The whole reason I occasionally play Halo 5 still, the whole reason I bother to visit these forums from time to time is because I care about the Halo franchise too much to be silent about it and move on to other games. I will relentless criticize 343i and Microsoft, because criticism and for commercial art, voting with your wallet is the only thing that will lead to improvement.

Complaining/Criticizing the games is one of the best things you can do as a fan if you truly care about the quality of the products being put out.

So does calling people whiners. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I’ve long since stopped caring about having the maturity or moral highground on the forums. I just find all these “STOP BEING TOXIC YOU MOTHER -Yoinks!-” threads to be amusingly hypocritical. Like what do you guys actually think you’re accomplishing by intentionally antagonizing opposing viewpoints? I can guarantee you aren’t accomplishing anything, nor are you actually discouraging anyone like me from posting criticism.

Like I’m not going to stop being a critic just because someone called me a poopie-head, nor am I going to stop being one just because someone aggressively insists that I stop doing it.

I’ve heard all of this before. You yelling at people to stop complaining isn’t bringing anything new to the table, and if threads like these actually worked then people would’ve stopped complaining years ago.

Is this the first time you’ve ever been to a Halo forum?

I was on very active on bungie.net through all of the Halo 3 and Reach days and the community has always been like this.
