What enemies you want to see return in Infinite?

Title

The flood & the proper looking infection games.

Flood, covenant, revamped prometheans.

Grunts, with their grunty combat dialog

SKIRMISHERS, BRUTES, AND SCARABS!!!

Atriox still has a large force of Banished on the Ark…
Also still hoping that Jul 'Mdama is still alive and that mook that got killed in Halo 5 in such a -Yoink- way was just a double. The Jul portrayed in Halo 4’s Spartan Ops was way too crafty to be caught like H5’s. Why else would he be simulated in the WarGames if there was a possibility? With Jul around we could still have a Covenant foe which has been one of the iconic things about Halo.

I would like to see the flood return in a way that makes them truly terrifying. I remember playing Halo CE and meeting the flood for the first time, it was very scary.

I have a feeling Prometheans aren’t really gonna be a thing anymore with the classic approach they seem to be taking.

The Arbiter claimed in Halo 5 that the Storm Covenant is pretty much wiped out after Sunaion so I don’t see how they can come back unless they retcon that plot point.

Was never a fan of the flood. Sorry, just too annoying for me.

I’m banking on the Banished being the main enemy faction in Infinite. Atriox is smart, maybe he made a deal with Cortana. Plus, I never played Halo Wars 2 but from what I gather, the Banished are basically like the covenant but less polished and more barbaric. And they have Brutes in their ranks and Brutes are my favorite Halo enemy of all time.

Halo has been at its best when it had multiple factions fighting each other. CE did an amazing job with the Covenant, Flood, and UNSC. H2 did an amazing job with Covenant vs Elites, and Covenant vs Flood. So I just hope that, regardless of which enemies are in the game, 343 can continue that fun game play.

With that said, here’s my list:

  • UNSC/humans (perhaps some innies who find it advantageous to work with the UNSC) - Banished - Created organic/digital forces - Flood

All of them…

But on a more serious note… I really would like to see as many returning enemies as possible but maybe combine and revamp some of them.

Some people have also said the Banished which I didn’t think about sense I was thinking of in-game enemies you fight in the main Halo games but it’d be seriously cool to see and fight some the Banished forces!

I’d like the banished to take the covenants place. the covenant was fun but we’ve beaten them twice now, their time has come. it might also be cool to see some species or factions that have sided with cortana like get some grunts or humans wielding forerunner weapons and armor. I’d like all the variants of the prometheans to return but because of the artsyle change in infinite I’d love to see the prometheans also get a brand new look. something like this (watcher redesign. don’t remember who made it but saw it on the installation 01 site.) also a number of the sentinel variants we’ve seen in the halo wars games would be nice. especially since it looks like infinite will take place on zeta halo, it wouldn’t make sense to not have sentinels. and even though I can see the story working without them, I think a big flood return or reveal of them playing a part in the overall plan of cortana’s would be great.
scarabs and krakens would also be nice but if krakens return as an enemy, let’s make them part of a mission where we fly and fight rather than how halo 5 handled it. it might be a better boss fight that way. keepers of the one freedom might also be a good idea to add seeing as how they worship forerunners still so they might be willing to side with cortana and her all powerful guardians. that would put us fighting brutes + humans which would be fun.

please no drones.

I would love to see Flood back, the new engine would make them even more threatenig.
For the other factions, I’d like to see revamped UNSC: seeing different type of soldiers, with something unique that can make me understand their role in fights, maybe

I just want a load of them! like a good collection of them through the game series… I think a mix off old and new, maybe a new flood form or two? like a really tanky one to take on like skorpions or wraithes. i’d be stupidly excited if you could play classes, i.e a jackel class for sniping or brutes to be a tanky boy or Spartans for all round goodness.

Flood, Forerunners, and the Banished should take the stage as the new Covenant since it is implied that they died in Halo 5 (or are at the point of not being nearly as much of the threat).

Flood for sure even though some people hate them I actually liked fighting them. I didn’t really like fighting the Promethean, lacked character. Something like covenant would be much better imo.

It would be interesting to see brutes and drones

I want to fight Brutes again and maybe drones too

The Flood for sure. We haven’t faced the Flood in a main Halo game since Halo 3. I think there is a ton of potential to make them the feared enemies they once were in Halo CE.

Some ideas that 343 could incorporate to make fighting the Flood more exciting and engaging:

  • Make the Flood immune against melee attacks again like how they were in Halo CE and Halo 2. Fighting the Flood in Halo 3 felt like punching wet sponges. Any meleee attack would completely disintegrate them, which was a strange departure from the previous two games. The Flood are supposed to be this unfeeling, immensely strong enemy that is virtually invulnerable to melee attacks, but with clear weakness such as grenade, energy sword and shotty. - Add the Flood Juggernaut. This infamous enemy that was found in the Halo 2 source code but was scrapped would be a fine addition to the standard Flood sandbox of Infection form, Combat form and Carrier form - Remove “Pure” forms. Canonically these did not make any sense, as the Flood requires a host to create a combat form. Also, they really were not all that fun to fight against. - Add more variations of the Flood combat forms. So far we have only seen Humans, Elites and Brute forms. I know that Grunts are deemed too weak so they just become carrier forms. But don’t think Jackels would be out of the question. I think Hunters are immune so that might not happen. Drones would be cool, as I don’t think we have encountered flying Flood yet. Also, if the Promethean enemies return maybe they could add some sort of infected form of those.

Actually, in the lore pure forms were pretty well explained. Once the flood accumulated enough biomass, it can start creating pure forms. Pure forms do not require a host since they are made purely out of flood biomass.

I want to see all of them
