I honestly support the idea of a music selection system in the menus, especially since the main MCC track has been so bland after nearly 10 years.
being able to change the selected menu soundtrack for each game as well as the main theme, while also being able to toggle between the current Dynamic system and a Set system for a single menu soundtrack, would be perfect. I also wish they’d add the Halo Online OST to replace the main MCC menu theme (Or at least to add to it so it feels less bland and more lively)
Kind of like the fog/mist in that basement at the start of the campaign mission The Oracle in Halo 2, where you can barely see the Flood down there. Now that would be a visual challenge.
Red visor color would do the same as all other visor iterations - nothing at all. Your third point about halo 5 I can’t get on-board with having never played the game after 343 ruined the franchise with 4.
Your second point is a great one! It would be awesome to have a veto or voting system in place on the MCC, that way we could avoid garbage maps like condemned and select in MM and waterfront and installation 04 in firefight, among others.
I’d strongly recommend either giving the currently-useless “armor” some kind of effects or removing it altogether…it serves no purpose as-is. Also bring back multi-team and make FFA a ranked gametype.
Oh, for Halo 4, we really need a way to select different tech suits just like we can in Halo 3. I want to be able to use a black undersuit instead of one that changes based on the primary color.
I think the reason why they havent done that with 4 is that it affects the silhouette of the player; essentially the coloration is used to mask how small the chromatic sections are on the armor
I think if they were to try and add black techsuits, they would have to make things like the waist armor of the Mark V a permanent fixture on the rest of the armor sets (which I’d personally like if they were to do)
Oh yeah I forgot about slayer pro, that would be a great addition! No handicap settings and no radar once in a while would be a welcome change from normal games.
I found myself wondering what it would be like to use the Halo 3 Magnum in ODST earlier today. I played around with the Magnum in Halo 3 later, and it really is a totally different weapon. Having it show up on weapon racks in Firefight could be nice.
I cannot stress this part enough: But I wouldn’t add the Magnum or Battle Rifle to the ODST campaign. The Automag is good against Grunts and Jackals, but not so much against Brutes unless you also have a shield stripping weapon. For the large majority of the campaign, the Covenant Carbine is a prize you need to use wisely because you aren’t running across them very often. It stands as a pseudo Power Weapon in campaign. The ammo management aspect means you need to be careful, and really, really adds to the overall feeling of the campaign. Adding the Battle Rifle (And to a lesser extent, the Halo 3 Magnum) would turn the careful campaign balancing on its head by introducing more utility weapons that can easily headshot enemies from a safe distance. Brutes would no longer be fought the same way. This would be especially devastating on higher difficulties.
I’m not being a “no fun allowed” type person here, I’m trying to preserve the very essence of what makes ODST so special. Firefight is a bit of a different story. But I’m still sort of against they Battle Rifle being added to it because, again, it disrupts the very fundamentals of ODST’s gameplay. By the way, ODST Classic Firefight needs to stay classic. Limited human weapon spawns forced you to scavenge and use ammo wisely. I’m worried 343 is going to ruin ODST in a way only its closest fans will notice. I really do not want them to dilute the core ODST experience. You are supposed to feel weak relative to the other Halo games, and limited utility weapon selection and usage is critical to meet that end.
As far as matchmaking as concerned:
Firefight Classic should be as the game was on Xbox 360.*
Firefight+/Extra/Whatever you want to call this hypothetical idea, can have the extra goodies to play around with.
*One thing I haven’t fully made my mind up on, is the Marines and friendly Elites. I’m mainly on the fence with the unlimited ammo they have in their weapons. Sure, they’re honestly stupid as allies, and they die easily. But with a Beam Rifle or Rocket Launcher with one shot, they can do more damage than any player could most of the time. If you babysit them, they can be a fairly significant ally. But that does change the gameplay, and not in a negative way. And if you ignore them and let them do their own thing, they do die fairly quickly, not making them more deadly than a real person with limited ammo.

Forgot about this video from a while back that showed early Halo 3 had more Elite ranks initially
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rjNR32qC9Iw
Though Stealth Elites are still in the files and the most likely to be added in the future, alongside how the devs were testing the waters with recreating Ultras as a rank above Majors using the shipmaster during the Season 8 Flight, I’d love to see:
Stealth Elites updated to use the Commando Harness and added to the wave customization
Ultras restored as the rank up from Standard Elite Majors
Zealots restored entirely to use as a boss rank like Generals in Reach (largely just using Swords and Fuel Rod Guns)
the helmetless Councilor and Honor Guard entries could also be restored with their shoulders removed as well (like the current Stealth Elites) to use for the Heretic ranks, since in-game the current Heretics are visually identical to the normal minors and majors, though are hostile to normal non-heretic Elites and Covenant.
•More bug fixes for the countless bugs
• PC Split-screen is in the works.
•Finished File Share & Theater Mode.
•Changed pre and post game lobbies so you can now view other players File Share, Service Record, etc while waiting for the match to start.
•Once you finish a match, if players don’t back out of the lobby keep those players for the next match and add any players needed to fill the lobby.
•Proximity chat options for Match Making, Custom Games, & Campaign
•Multi Team for Match Making
•Rocket Hogs for Halo: Reach when Rocket Race is in Match Making rotation
•Invasion in Casual Match Making
•Campaign Browser like Halo: Reach had, possibly for other titles also.
•Match making team penalty requirement changes. Allow players to leave a match if half of a proper team amount has already left. Example: Say a match starts 3v4 then the team with 3 would only need 1 player to quit before the other 2 would not get a penalty.
•Good modding support for all titles.
•Steam Workshop support is in the works.
•Forging in Fire Fight maps.
Just to name a few off the top of my head.
List continued (WIP):
•Weapon Skins for Halo: Reach
•Weapon Skins for Halo 2
•Re-Add original maps back into MM rotation: Example: Halo: Reach: Hemorrhage, Paradiso
•Add more Halo Online maps to Halo 3 MM rotation. Example: Reactor, Sky Bridge
•Veto system for Match Making
Testing I would like to see:
•I would love to see testing for Mouse Aim Assist. Something similar to Halo Online but much less strong. Possibly start out at 0.1% or 1% and go from there. Bullets don’t register nearly as often on mouse as compared to controller
I’ve been thinking of another good use for season points and this could be one. Possibly have selectable Menu Backgrounds and Menu music from previous updates as unlockables as you and another user have mentioned.
On-top of getting season points from playlist completion I would suggest players get 1 point per rank even after rank 100.
