Porting a modern title you already have complete access to into another title isn’t “more content”, it’s consolidation of content.
I’m all in for more content, but that isn’t more content.
Consolidating 97.5+gb of content into a game that is 1.5x smaller to save 97.5gb of space, or, deleting the 97.5gb save file just to have the option of not installing the 97.5+gb save file is kinda moot my guy.
You misunderstand; they want more content, but only for the games already in MCC.
Halo 5 is not a legacy title, its gameplay is nothing like any of the previous titles which MCC is sold on the principle of. Taking away precious development focus to completely overhaul the base functions of the collection for a title the majority of MCC players went to MCC to avoid playing, that same title of which would have to be gutted itself to the point it wouldn’t even be a satisfactory game for the people who actually like Halo 5, is just an ask in bad faith.
Halo 5 should come to PC, but not through MCC. it should be a standalone port sold as part of a discounted bundle alongside MCC, much like Bethesda offers for the Fallout series.
H5 on Xbox Series X only clocks in at around 46GB. For comparison my H4 on MCC PC is 30GB. I think they could probably further shrink the game substantially by cutting out the more controversial bits (req packs for one). H5: Forge from the Microsoft Store is only 31GB and includes a lot of the MP core. As a start that app could simply be consolidated under MCC, and would bring at the very least the ability to play H5 through the Custom Games Browser. I don’t think anyone would argue that an extra 30-45GB would break the bank when you consider the full game is already at 125GB used on Steam anyway… Plus again, Just Don’t Download It if you can’t afford the extra space, ja feel?
REQs don’t take up memory themselves, but the items you obtain from them, unless you mean to cut out all customization options and WZ.
You can already play H5 customs for free on the H5F custom games browser. The only thing it’s missing is cross play support.
It would be an extra ~100GB and Windows store and Xbox users have to download the entirety of the game before they can uninstall portions of it.
If a PC port existed why not just launch the separate game? It’s a 1000x more complex to force it into the MCC. For every reason to incorporate H5 into the MCC there are 2 more reasons not to.
Would like to see a dedicated server tool for PC, this could bring modded maps from modding tools to the CGB and have more settings like map/gamemode rotation even randomized.
Some are realistic while others are far fetched, but I would like to see these added non the less.
I would still like to see our custom armor to show in all the campaigns like the weapons skins & vehicles. This is an available feature in Halo Reach & would be nice for the other games as well.
Have ALL skulls accessible for ALL halos, H1-H3/ODST are taken very well care of now, but H4 & Reach are still lacking in those features.
Add H3 armor effects (Eternal, Legendary, Inclement Weather, Heart Attack, & Pestilence). And yes I’m aware of the chest piece with the legendary flame.
Can we get the color black for Halo Reach, H2, H3, & H4? And different color layouts/designs in H1 & H2 like Secondary & tertiary colors since they have limited armor permutations.
Different colored Reach & H2 visors, even simple colors like black, silver, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, & so on. Reach has great armor, but lacking in the visor variety.
Set up a campaign lobby & spartan ops lobby like how multiplayer & firefight is set up.
Seperate MCC from xbox live making the campaign coop & multiplayer free.
They literally can not, nor should they add H5 to it, if they did they would have to severely neuter H5’s multiplayer system to make it remotely possible. With that said i am all for them doing a full port to pc similar to the MCC treatment. But with thay said it was a struggle to inject Reach into the equation. It has to do with how each game runs a different version of the same engine and how they interact with the very complex system you’re casually referring to as a hub.
I have a giant list at home I like to refine in my apare time. I don’t have access to it right now, but have a silly one and four big ones:
Split screen on PC across all games,
A DLC pack for Halo 2: All the Halo 2 maps excluded from Halo 2: Anniversary, and campaign cosmetics from both Halo 2 and 2: Anniversary as a new season. Players who don’t have the DLC would only be able to play these maps in matchmaking. Some 2/2: Anniversary weapon skins and visors would also fit it well.
One more season that players would use to unlock menu backgrounds.
Playlists unlocking a single season point, so players have something to unlock regardless of weekly rotations. I think there are only 70-ish playlists so it wouldn’t make a drastic difference, but would be nice in giving older functionality some modern meaning. I have playlists everywhere I haven’t touched.
And the silly one is basically a copy of shiny Pokémon: Every Firefight match, each Brute, Elite, and Flood Elite have a very tiny chance of being a BOB color: Pure white or gold. On a kill, each player in that match of Firefight gain a season point!
I also feel like every weapon should have at least two weapon skin opportunities. Everyone has a favorite weapon, and I don’t want that one fan of the Brute Spiker being left in the dust.
honestly a music section on the extras menu would be amazing. where all halo soundtracks are in one place. would be awesome if you could choose a song as the menu music aswell since the menu theme for mcc is getting really old.p
it would also be cool if we had theater for Halo 2/2A and Ce/CeA.
and menu background customization so that we have an option to choose previous halo menu screens.
all of these are my wet dreams I have for mcc right now
You’ve hit the nail on the head I think. When I had Reach on the 360, all I wanted was the red visor, and my hopes have been dashed with every Reach customisation so far.
Vote menus (especially for scrambling teams) would be great for custom games, as no one likes to get rolled.
Unfortunately I don’t think Halo 5 is coming to MCC, but if it were released standalone I would purchase it to complete the campaign- I never had an XBone to do so.
Halo CE:
I want to be able to change Chief’s armor color for campaign. I can already do that with the visor, so why not the armor?
Halo 3:
I want the Wuv Woo skull from Halo Wars 2 added here. I would love to see it working on Hunters too, not just Scarabs. And maybe on some weapons too.
Halo 3 ODST:
I am happy with Flood Firefight, it is super fun but I think it needs a few minor tweaks. I think it needs a bit of a thicker fog. I would love to see it thickening as you go on, to a certain degree.
Also, I think the mode should be slightly harder on heroic. Just slightly. I played with 2 friends last night on Lost Platoon, we completed 4 sets, about 90 minutes in, and still had about 23 lives left by then. We could have gone on for forever.
In addition to that, I want slightly reduced damage for the Warthog’s Flood gunner, and maybe the Sentinels too, though I am still not sure about them. Those were the biggest threats to me, I was surprised by how fast they can melt you. Especially the gunner. Sentinels, maybe I can deal with them, but the gunner, oh boi…
