Obviously things in the FX menu but its not just them that effect it. If you go over the FX budget weapons start to float when dropped which is annoying (93% sure anyway). On my 5 levels infection map i dont have any FX but im at 130% for the FX budget. I noticed each Promethean weapon seem to adds 1% to the budget. Anyone know what else adds to the budget?
Some tips and tricks for you. If you are on Alpine or the snow canvas theres an option in the map settings that allow you to turn off details. Details include all the grass, plants and animated goodies located within the default map itself. Another tip is to be mindful of which weapons and vehicles you use. Apparently Covenant weapons such as the plasma pistol can take up to around 15% Fx budget per an object itself. Things like Wraiths, ghosts and pheatons also affect the FX budget.
Sometimes setting objects such as lights on the map to Dynamic lighting can affect the Effects budget and cause it to increase exponentially.
Another thing that can use up FX is the map option settings, things like adding fog, wind, change of time and particles like snow or rain are apart of the visual effects category.
And of course last but not least any of the newly added features such as sound effects, particle effects and even lighting can use up and drain your available Effects usage bar.
Hopefully this helped you out! have a good one and good luck revising the objects on your map.
Teleporters seem to increase the fx count for me, I assume gravity lifts and man cannons do as well due to their light effect.

Im on parallax but i have all the things to mentioned except plasma pistols and dynamic lighting… and i kind of need them all… maybe i can remove dust effect and get away with it?
am I ok to go over 100 in the fx bar. Will it affect anything or can I just ignore it.

You probably should make a new thread but fx is a soft budget, you can go over but u might experience lag or other performance issues.

Yes you can go over the bar, however, the performance of your map will take a drastic hit. You might notice objects with incorrect lighting, things popping in and out visually. The list goes on, furthermore, the quality of your effects won’t be as good.
