Hypothetical situation here: 343 industries announces this year at E3 that they are working on Halo 3 Anniversary for a late 2017 launch.
What about this hypothetical launch would get you super excited? (A remastered campaign is a given.)
But a new multiplayer experience like Halo2A had?
An entirely H3 themed Halo 5 update?
The entire game as a massive expansion to Master Chief Collection?
H3A as a standalone game?
Insane cinematic cut-scenes in the campaign?
Relaunched forge with the same physics but brand new tools?
A bunch of new Halo 5 maps based off of Halo 3 maps?
Describe your mental picture of the most ideal H3A you wish they would release.
It should just be a graphics upgrade and Sandtrap, with elephants, on a 90% of the time rotation for BTB.
Also making a better BR would be nice as well, and a forge upgrade.
Make it a $25 DLC for MCC and fix MCC.

H3 wasn’t my favorite Halo but it is many people’s favorite and it’s a classic like the first 2. H4 wasn’t made by Bungie and it’s still the most hated Halo so far. Just because you stopped playing H3 within a week of picking it up doesn’t make it the worst.

I looked at your service record and it showed that you got it in 2012 and barely played it.
I think Halo 3 is a mediocre game all around (sluggish, -Yoink- balance, awkward mechanics, narrow FoV, list goes on), so I don’t really care about a H3A. That said I have some ideas for improvements that wouldn’t completely step on the toes of people who actually like the game.
Make it a standalone game. People aren’t going to buy H3A just to play its maps in a game they don’t even like. Also trying to implement it into the MCC would just be a nightmare, as if the MCC isn’t already broken enough.
I’d rework the gun sounds. A lot of people refer to the Assault Rifle as “the popcorn machine”, and for good reason.
I’d buff some of the really useless weapons. The Magnum is weaker and harder to use than the Battle Rifle, you never see anyone touch that gun ever. I’d increase its firing rate and maybe up its aim assist to solidify it as a close-range alternative. I’m unsure what to do with the Mauler, maybe also give it a firing rate Buff. The problem with the Mauler is that it’s just a weaker Shotgun that you have to dual wield for it to be any decent, and the Shotgun itself is already kind of worthless.
I’d add a projectile DMR to Forge and Customs so people aren’t forced to use the crappy BR for competitive settings if they don’t want to.
Improved Forge mode. Maybe release some classic forge maps with the game at launch.
Perhaps add new weapons to the Brute sandbox, add new enemy variants and rework some of the Campaign levels.
I would want:
-New terminals
-H2A style graphics
-Enhanced and extended cutscenes like H2A (the arrival at the Ark would be even more amazing)
-Maybe some new weapons and vehicles for multiplayer
-Some sort of codex like Halo CE had
But if 343 really wanted to go above and beyond and make the game truly amazing and unique they could try and add some of the cut content like the sharqoui/drinol enemy or the flood juggernaut form or an extra mission like the guardians mission that was cut from Halo 3 originally. This is highly unlikely and a big IF whether I want this or not. If they did decide to try this it would have to be spot on with no margin for error but its still fun idea anyway.

Halo 3 would still be celebrating its 10 year anniversary and to me and many others it does deserve the same treatment that its two predecessors got and I agree they shouldn’t remake every single Halo game they should at least finish the original trilogy.

Halo 3A would be a horrible apology. I like Halo 3 as is. I actually liked CE and 2 as they originally were too. These anniversaries are a waste of time. I played the crap out of 3 when it came out, and I don’t want to have those moments ruined just for “graphical upgrades”.

OPTIONAL graphical updates. The anniversary games put CE and H2 back in the spotlight for a short time for both new and old fans. I literally see no downside to that when you can still play the game as you did originally.
I would have them only redo the campaign. The graphics of the cutscenes were poor even at time of launch (read: not the best). I would want them to touch up the sound effects, cutscenes, and textures. Nothing else, DLC for MCC.
