Your team doesn’t care. I just finished a match and it was all 12-14 year olds screaming in a mic. Ping away!
i have never seen this before but thanks
That ping feature is a nifty idea with no substance. You can ping your team in any mode, but what does it mean? Does it mean “I need help” does it mean “Stay away from here”? They gave us this feature but we don’t know how to use it. I’ve tried using it with random players to mean “Need assistance” but nobody notices. I guess it’ll just never be useful.
It’s a nice idea, but it doesn’t work because you don’t know if your teammates need help or if they just used it by accident.
It’s a good feature if you die with a good req/weapon then your teammate can go get it, and maybe if they are nice enough give it back to you after your lame respawn time is over.
The ping feature is an interesting idea, but I don’t think it’s really ever used. The ping needs to be more visible and more clear. Right now, it’s just nothing more than a ping. It doesn’t mean anything, doesn’t tell the other players any useful information. To really take advantage of it, you have to have a mic to tell players what you mean. But… In that case, it’s easier to just talk than use the ping.
I never even knew this ping exsisted. It’s so unoticeable.
I have used this ping feature in WWFF to let my teammates know where the enemy is at, and most times I get a response. There have been times when everyone is looking for the enemy and this is a good way of signalling players to where they are. If I don’t get a response, I go to where everyone is to help out cause I won’t get much done if I’m alone. Sometimes it’s effective, sometimes it’s not. Not everyone will notice the ping, and if they do, they might not know what is means. I guess this feature is best used when you play with a fire team cause you get a chance to coordinate different amount of pings to certain situations and react better as a team. Just saying.
My buddy and I did some testing, and when you ping, your name flickers back and forth from neutral (blue for randoms, green for fireteam) to yellow (used when shooting or taking damage iirc). It doesn’t seem to be that useful, but maybe we just missed something.
I was playing Halo 5 for the first time yesterday and noticed this happening during Firefight. I was gonna come on here and ask, and saw this thread. Seems like it would be more useful for people you already know so that you can quickly express an agreed action with everyone.
Ping your location bruh.
“I have a warthog I need a gunner”
“where”
“pinging location”
