What does the Warden Warzone Eternal DO?

Pun not intended lol

Despite being a bullet sponge, with combined fire, in all the footage I’ve seen, he gets taken out relatively easily. The only thing I’ve seen him do is flex like he’s at a model show. The Warden is huge and intimidating, has a big sword, but doesn’t go ape -Yoink- on the attackers. He stands there waltzing around lookin pretty, makes a grand entrance, but still badass.

I’ve seen more action done by other Bosses than him. Maybe he just poses in Warzone

well he killed THE MASTER CHIEF

Kill you. Over and over.
He has multiple attacks, even one that looks like a forerunner version of the spartan laser.

Link me, I saw him swing his sword once, that’s it. With the people swarming him, he didn’t seem actively put them down. Either rarely made an attempt or wasn’t quite effective at killing someone for some reason lol.

Well, Judging from RUL’s video, i’ve seen him 1 hit kill everyone he touches with that sword or his face laser. I think those are the only two moves he has though. Maybe some Jaunting too, but that’s all.

Honestly, I too think he could do better as a boss. I can understand some of the lesser bosses being bullet sponges, but this is supposed to be THE WARDEN -Yoinking!- ETERNAL, right?
I actually thought up a good multi phase boss fighting system for this guy during a discussion I had with a friend the other day.
I’ll repost it here.
Firstly, reduce is health to 50-75% of what it currently is, and and use the subtraction as shields that regen very slowly.

Second, give him attack phases. During the first phase he will jaunt around and attack with his sword(prioritizing who ever is closest) or fire quick shots of his face laser(prioritizing who ever is dealing the most damage to him). During the second phase, a neat animation or him saying something cool like “You are all but dregs of a degraded species!”, he will then become invincible for a few moments while he charges up his face laser, then it fires like a beam for about 5-10 seconds while he is stationary(sort of like a big laser turret). You can hit him from behind while he’s firing, but during his charging phase he is invincible. The energy exertion from firing the beam sends him into the third phase where he will need to recharge. during his recharge phase, he is vulnerable to damage, and will not attack or move, giving the players a short window of time to deal as much damage to him as they can with whatever powerful REQ’s the can pull(EDIT: Better still, while he recharging, he spawns a few Knights or Soldiers or Watchers to defend him, making it extra difficult). After recharging his shields will return in full, and a little bit of his health will be regenerated.
Rinse-repeat until he dies.

On a side note, do we even get anything but points for beating the bosses? I noticed some of the REQs you can receive are certifications for certain other REQs, but that seems pretty pointless to me. I say, instead of wasting REQ cards on certifications, how about giving those certifications to the players for killing the enemies, and the certifications can be for whatever weapon of vehicle the enemy was using. Better yet, how about different certifications for different statistics, like whoever does the most damage to a specific boss gets a certification for his primary weapon, and who ever gets the last shot gets a certification for his secondary weapon.

Ex: players are trying to defeat a covenant boss elite or something. highest damage players gets a cert for his energy sword, while last shot gets a cert for his needler or carbine or something.

I dunno. I just think this “Boss” system needs a lot more thought to be put into it. I still like Warzone and can’t wait to play it, but I hope that, maybe in a title update or something, some real depth with be added or in Halo 6 maybe Warzone 2.0 or something.

On a side not, it looks like he also shoots some sort of bombs or something.

I think AI get too overwhelmed when a lot of players engage them, it seems like it changes priority targets way too often.

When the AI are not overwhelmed with this, I see even just a couple marines take down players who are not ready for them.

Yeah, but an easy fix for that is just that once it’s priorities make the AI lock onto a target, it shouldn’t switch targets until that one is dead.
This really Shouldn’t be a problem unless the AI has conflicting priorities.

At one point I saw him make some kind of black hole, or at least that’s what it looked like.

I guess it’s like watching a robot self destruct when given a question it can’t answer. The Warden is confused who to take out first and doesn’t multi task that well when faced with a large force.

Wtf? someone’s not a lore freak.

He probably will be much, much more powerful by game release.

The script is showed in the new sprint trailer. The original tread about it is now locked. Sorry .

Yeah, but that just makes him infinitely kiteable, and an organized team will take him down with basically zero effort. He has to have SOME ability to reassess target priority on the fly. Maybe less than he does now, but definitely some.

I’ve seen some fighting - one time he seemed to just stand there and show off a bit before finally dying but without actually hurting anyone, another time he just let hell loose on everyone around him, killing quite a few people - usually in one shot - before finally being brought down. Then again, it was kind of hard to tell exactly what was going on with all the death and chaos and explosions all over…

Maybe the 'people swarming him affects his AI negatively, but in that former case it was a guy atop the spire taking potshots at him then ducking behind cover when Warden turned to face him. I don’t think Eternal had any way of actually harming him, so just sat there spinning around and stuff. His Promethean allies shot back, but Eternal just kinda seemed to zone out and do nothing.

Time will tell, and if the bosses don’t perform optimally and enough feedback shows they need a buff or some change, that can always come post-launch.

yeah he looks dumb

Not really Kiteable, if he can 1-shot kill who ever he so much as looks at. Even if a team could Kite him, they wouldn’t take him down without heavy losses.

Got damn it, keep that junk out of here. I’m talking about Warden in Warzone anyways. The classified could be a tease as well, just for hype. Now no more discussion about what you saw. My God, Buzz Killington must be your father.

sorry

From the one vid I saw with him in it, he was surrounded by alot of players, including a scorpion and a banshee and maybe more and he still was doing work to anyone who strayed too near. He impressed me but I can see where you could see him just standing there. Just give him a bit to wake up and he does damage.
