From my guess , that audio file was supposed to be in the trailer (in the control room scene) but following it ,it was deleted as thinking of it as a spoiler alert. Theory wise I think that chief found the original cortana ,and chief explained everything to her’s fragment ,cortana than actually feels the fragment as a part of her… Maybe i am just repeating what you already know .anyway,what do you think guys
There has been much speculation about it, but my theory is that the Cortana we hear in the audio file is a new one created by Dr. Halsey. Cortana fears this would happen in Halo 4 (“They’ll pair you with another AI. Maybe even a new Cortana model”).
Personally, if this is indeed the case, I can see a showdown going off between Cortana and Misguided Cortana with the Chief stuck in the middle.
I don’t know about a new Cortana model. I’d say that she’s just talking about other fragments of herself. I get this from when she says, “This… This is a part of me.” With that being said, maybe Chief has to collect all of her fragments and ultimately put her back together like Humpty Dumpty.

Hmm…you maybe confusing the new cortana and old cortana .see u r saying that new cortana is describing her connection b/w old cortana’s fragments …which is impossible but can be true only if the memory of old C is restored to new one…we can interelate this situation with justice league when superman get back alive

The Cortana we hear in the audio clip has a feeling of familiarity but cannot explain why and seeing as Cortana is from the mind of Dr. Halsey, a copy would have those feelings but wouldn’t be able to explain exactly why because they haven’t encountered it before.
As I said before, it’s all speculation at this point.

I was quoting the other guy. If you talk about events from H4 then remember that scene during halsey’s interrogation, scene in which chief was sitting somewhere and his head was Down, and then halsey approached and gave him the cortana, just like this (maybe) chief will kill the cortana and then he goes in grief and then halsey approaches and gives hin the restored cortana
It could be a different fragment of Cortana or a new Cortana altogether. Not sure, but i’m highly intrigued. I’m just tired bad cortana. Halo 5’s cortana does not interest me in the least and I hope chief can fix her.
