What does it take ?

Does anyone know whats needed to level up? I mean how many wins does it takes to go from lets say gold 4 to gold 5 or platinum 6 to diamond 1…
I think its like 3 or 4 wins in a row? or if you lose one you have to win 2 more… im not sure

I dont know baout Halo 5, but in Halo 3 it mattered how many games you played at that rank. I know in the begging it was like 3 wins in a row to go up, 3 losses to go down. Then say once you got to the 30’s or 40’s and you played a lot of matches it would take more wins in a row like 6 to move up, and 4 or 5 to move down. Thats why I stalled at a 45.

I would think Halo 5 follows the same principal.

On halo way point go to your profile. Click service record. Then click see more arena stats. Then pick the playlist, and you will see a bar that will tell you when you will rank next.

to move up through the Tiers from Bronze through Diamond its solely based on wins, more or less exactly like how you described. I believe a loss puts you down 2 but it is roughly 3 wins in a row to get into the next Tier. Once you hit Onyx the game ignores wins/losses for the most part and you move up depending on your CSR which is what those 1500+ numbers represent for Onyx players. if you reach the top 200 in CSR then you get the Champion Tier which is around a CSR of 1800 or so if I’m not mistaken

EDIT: just went to Halotracker.com and apparently the Champion Tier CSR is set at a minimum of just over 2000 not 1800

I can tell you from Diamond 1 to Onyx, takes about 4 wins in a row to level up so a grand total of 24 wins in a row would get you from Diamond 1 to Onyx. Also, if you pull up your service record on Waypoint and select the playlist you are trying to level up it will show you a circle that fills up blue showing you how close you are to ranking up. It updates this circle right after each match, just refresh the page.

yes this is also true, I really wish they would just put the damn circle in the game during match loading or something. makes no sense to have to go to the website to view it

I would say the average is 4, what I have noticed is that if you beat people that are a higher rank, you level up faster than those even with you or lower rank than you. So if you win 3 games in a row against a team a full rank higher than you, there’s a good chance you will level up after 3 wins, but I find that rare. It reminds me of Halo 2 where you always want to play people higher than you, you level up more if you win and lose less if you lose.
