Hi! I’ve been an avid Halo fan (who often dived deeper into the lore than actually playing the games than most people) for over half of my life now. I truly appreciate this series and intend on making it a staple for my first tattoos and my own house in the future. I have such a deep connection with the games (especially Halo 3). I’d sit and listen to the main menu of Halo 3 in a dark room thinking about life or what life would be like in that universe. I’d reenact imaginary stories with deep plots in the back yard with imaginary guns, shooting imaginary enemies. I’d gush over meeting someone new at school who happened to like the games. I’m sure some of you can relate. I’m not sure the developers knew just how important it’d be to some people. In fact, I slightly owe a part of me to the franchise for making me who I am today. It made me happiest in my darkest moments. It created some of my closest friendships that I still hold dear at this very moment. So my question is (and go all out for me)… What does Halo mean to you?
(Update: These comments are amazing! Thank you all for participating!)
Halo means a few things to me: friendship, love, and memories. Not a Halo game has gone by where I haven’t found friendship, some everlasting, some temporary, and created memories. The franchise was the matchmaker for me and my wife where we found one another and bonded over something we so greatly adore. A great deal of what I own is Halo related, from cosplay and collectable merchandise right down to my wedding ring which is a Halo ring (you can check that out here). Halo has been a big influence in my life decisions. It is the reason why I wanted to start writing sci-fi books in the first place so that I may be able to one day contribute to the universe that I know and love.
I have a backlog of video games to play (not only on Xbox but on the PS2, Nintendo Wii, and Nintendo Switch too), but I always end up going back to Halo to either spend hours at a time in Forge mode or to just play a matchmade game or two. The Halo series is the gift that keeps on giving, always adding something new to the games or the lore which has grown exponentially over twenty years.
Halo means everything to me. Its how I met my wife.

Wow, nice job man!
Halo to me is fun. I know it’s not as significant or as big as others, but to me, Halo is the definition of fun. Long nights up with friends, hilarious custom games, the amazing community, and games themselves, are all the best definition of fun I can think of.
It means a lot to me. Halo for life
