What does Halo 6 need to have/do?.

hello to all I thought I’d drop this here as seeing as any changes made or kept would likely be based off of Halo5 I feel it’s pertinent to this Forum category. (If a Mod feels differently please move to wherever feels right.)

but anyway on with the thread!, as the tittle suggests what do you feel Halo6 needs to have or needs to change to fill your personal quota and become a must buy?. For me?

  1. a much longer campaign, Halo5’s was touted to be the longest in the series and yet I completed it in just over 7 and a half hours. That’s on normal so I’ll give some leeway here and say on higher difficulties this can be longer but I can’t remember a single Halo Campign I’ve beaten inside of 10+ hours!. Now that could be because in the previous titles I’ve felt more…free? Able to explore and not felt so confined by invisible walls, unscalable mountains, or sheer cliffs that are there for seemingly no more reason than to serve as an invisible wall without the wall.

  2. I touched on this in 1) but feel it’s worth repeating give me freedom! Give me exploration! Do I care if there’s Intel or a Doll at the end?! No!. I just want to be able to explore the out of bounds a lil l. Look at Delta Halo,Metropolis as just a couple of examples. Hell even CE gives the illusion of freedom better then Halo5 and practically every mission takes place in corridors, valleys or small hill areas (Halo CE mission Halo) while Halo5 had some very pretty levels none of them had any real exploration factor other then the paths the Devs WANTED you to find.

3)bland world, Now as mentioned above a fair number of levels were pretty and interesting but lacked a certain…something. Genesis? Pretty but barren, sunioan? Pretty but largely empty for an enemy stronghold, Sanghelios? Devoid of any alien life has a clear blue sky despite the Lore saying it’s skyline is red with its oceans also being tinted red. 343 has the material and they should damn well have the time to build the worlds and locations to bring the material to life so while it’s cool to be ‘seeing’ these places in-game for the first time the fact that they aren’t how they’ve been previously described or they’re barrenand life less save for groups of enemies is a real sucker punch to those who love the universe and the Lore.

  1. a great story did CE take a hell of a lot from Alien?(s) yes, but it worked!. Did Halo2 have more holes then a 1950’s Gamgster? Sure, did Halo3 end with a cliff hanger leaving us for years with the Question as to wether or not another Halo would be made? Hell yes it did!. But despite their issues all were loved becise they at least gave the illusion of freedom, had great characters, driven stories, an over bearing enemies and beautiful worlds to gawp at.

while Halo5 gets a few things right Campaign wise at least it also gets a lot wrong which in my books shouldn’t have happened, but with Halo5’s MP being pretty good I’m hoping that other than a few tweaks the Devs will have just that much more time to give us a long, great, well written, varied and interesting story.

MP wise my only complaints really are customisation, the REQ system and just how it was launched to be played so competitively. Halo2 was competitive but it was also fun and not a balls to the wall sweat fest. halo3 once again competitive but with a large commitment to community, fun and creativity via Forge.

REQ system wise, keep REQ packs but make them relevant to WZ only (I.E use them to unlock gun variants, vehicle variants, emblems and assainations) but make Armour unlockable either through Ranking, Achievements or buyable like in the Reach system wear you buy the Armour you want Via credits.

anyway enough about me, how about you guys and girls? What does Halo6 need to have/not have/change for it to be a must buy on your list.

Gameplay is the biggest thing for me. I will not buy another Halo game with a sprint mechanic in place. I’m so sick of that mechanic being forced in to a game where it doesn’t belong. It’s bad for Halo’s gameplay and is the largest contributor to the franchise no longer feeling like “Halo” due to how it affects so many areas of the sandbox from the weapon range, aim assist, map design, kill times, etc.

A compelling story that successfully builds upon the previous entry, and a multiplayer side that contains a wide variety of play options at launch.

Which is fair enough, though dare I say it looks like a mechanic that’s here to stay. Overall I don’t mind sprint, as much as I love the older Halo games not having the ability to run always bothered me. More so in the Campaigns rather than the MP so maybe a put it into one and take it out the other option is best?,

as far as MP goes I’m all for variety so while Sprint isn’t for some players I don’t see why they can’t create not only a sperate playlist for them but also a tailored sandbox were the weapons, etc are tailored to the lack of sprint like the older Halo’s.

what irks me the most is that 343 are having all this hate shovelled their way (some of it rightly so.) but it’s MS whose deciding development time, release windows etc. Halo is supposed to be the Flagship title of Xbox or at least one of them so how’s about MS starts giving the Devs some time to get things right instead of forcing things out.

Fix a broken narrative.
