What Does "farming" mean?

Lots of people have been complaining about getting farmed. I know that farming is doing something easy to get rich quick, but I don’t know how you could do that in Warzone.

It’s a term people use when they get wrecked. “I’m tired of getting farmed” is a less demeaning way of saying “I’m tired of getting wrecked”

It’s when in Warzone and you cap all 3 bases or Warzone Assault when you cap 2, when you get to the core, you make no effort to destroy the core, but instead, everyone stays outside the base to get kills.

This is it basically… The whole argument is whether this is considered a legit tactic or if it is just unsportsmanlike

I personally think it is a tactic… But that is also my personal opinion

That really depends on the context in which its done. Holding a team inside their spawn (spawn trapping) in Assauly is totally valid as a tactic and even though I’m a “victim” from time to time, I can admire the tactical prowess it requires to get that many players coordinated enough to pull it off.

Holding a team inside their core and just raking up kills when it would be easy to kill their core or otherwise win the game is unsportsmanlike…but when was Halo ever a sportsmanlike game? People play for different reasons. Its a really lame and cheap move and I wouldn’t consider it tactical at all considering the more valid tactic would be to just win…but its a playable option in a game and 343 hasn’t seen fit to do anything about it even if they could.

it simply means stat padding.

its another word for spanked

A tactic is a plan you come up with to win. Its not a tactic because they won’t go ahead and win.

basically

its mostly a few very large spartan companies that do it to solos and smaller parties.

the match is already over, one team is letting the other destroy their core but they instead choose to draw out the match and refuse the quick win. it is unsporting.

Thanks for all your explanations. l agree with some of you that it is not a tactic. The goal of Warzone is to win as fast as possible. Camping outside the base and just killing the other team for your benefit, and not to win, is not the point of Warzone and is not a tactic. Again, thank you all. The worst part is that you get banned for quitting.

To be clear though, if you’re not rolling over and allowing the game to end, then you are not getting farmed.

I had a warzone game run for almost 8 extra minutes today because the other team just wouldn’t lay down and accept the damn defeat! They had no hope of winning, and we stomped the hell out of them, but they kept at it.

Remember, as long as you’re fighting back and stopping us from destroying the core, you are not getting farmed. So don’t pretend to be a victim.
