What does Achilles Helmet mean?

I always see clans post about it, but what is it? Why do people want it? How do you get it?

This is the Achilles armour set, helmet included.
I imagine it’s so desired because it’s quite time-consuming to unlock as you need to meet the following criteria:
“Unlock: Achieve level 3 in all of the Spartan Company Mastery Commendations’ Kill Commendations for the armor, and achieve level 5 in all of the Spartan Company Mastery Commendations’ Kill Commendations for the helmet.”
Which also explains why it’s such a common discussion topic in Spartan Companies.

Simply because it is so rare to get and people can boast off with it

Nothing in life is worth it, without the grind you’ve put in to back it, to earn it and claim it as yours. The Achilles helmet and armour is a symbol of the grind and dedication to the game. Serious respect for the peeps putting their time in. :raised_hands:

It’s just a collectable at this point. It kind of lost my interest when the rewards became just a grind and I wasn’t that impressed enough to brag about it, was more tired. Recon’s Vidmasters on the other hand…now that was something to brag about.

To get Achilles helmet you need to have a max company and your whole company has to be grinding out challenges, and even after that it will go to 4 months - 4 years
Same for the Achilles armor. So it’s really rare because of hard it is to get it and its in a way like the Helioskrill which you used to only be able to get after beating all the campaigns in legendary for MCC. Requires a lot of dedication

It means you are a grinder and play a lot which basically means your a pro. (Edit: Not really skilled, but experienced.)
also sometimes people don’t do any work and still get the helmet because of the company carrying them :v

Edit: Yes I know you can get Helioskrill from gold packs, and no you can’t get the armor and helmet if a company already got it before. Just wanted to clear that up after having 4 people quoting me and telling me this, srry

Another point is that you have to be a member of the SpartanCo when the masteries are achieved, but you can join and get them right up to the respective points that they are achieved.

You don’t get it by joining a SpartanCo that already has the armour/helmet.

Just BTW, i’ve been told that the Helioskrill armour is now a normal REQ (see https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/forums/6e35355aecdf4fd0acdaee3cc4156fd4/topics/what-the-h/eedce742-068a-4131-b086-ec7166c6b6a3/posts?page=1)

Yeah I never completed all the campaigns on Legendary for the MCC and got the Helioskrill in a random gold REQ pack.

Hardly…just means someone farmed tedious requirements.
All this means is someone wasted a lot of time and in many cases groups have people expecting other people to put most of the work for them.
In theory someone could do barely anything and still unlock it.

Put shortly, grind in a club.

The helmet is rough to get. You can get the armor with relative ease, but then it’s a good 2-3 year journey to the helmet in most cases.

Our company took 153 days to get the armor. We’re now at 97.5% to the helmet and should get it in a week (May to September). You just have to be in a very active spartan company.

Nice. Your squad must have a good mix of active players. Makes for a much better experience.

All the Legendary Achilles companies are very active. LA6, 8, IX, and X are still accepting people if they want to grind.

My company earned the final piece back in June 2016, I don’t physically wear it all the time cause I have a favourite to Noble & Mark VI, it’s a challenging grind & was honestly worth it

I sometimes find myself to be a little curious as to how some could possibly have the time to try and achieve Achilles Armor… considering that people talk about achieving it from anywhere between 153 days to 4 years is really intimidating… as well as the fact that most people have things to do outside of video games… it’s outright insane that it takes so much time to achieve a set of armor… but to those who have earned it, I give my respect to putting in the grind to achieve a goal at their hobby. And who could blame them? The Halo Franchise has never completely disappointed its fans, and always has good things to outweigh the bad. In any case though, while I find the Achilles Armor to be an intimidating waste of time, I don’t discourage others to try and reach the goal if they desire it.

I never wanted the armor because of how many people were wearing it. There was a time where the armor was a common thing to see.

I actually kind of like the idea of achievements that are near impossible to get. The glaring issue with clan Achievements the is how easy it is to boot players that have contributed for years, then get dropped for players who have more available time for the final few months. Part of that is the lack of stats the players have access too regarding each/every clan member.

There is a discord bot that is used to track everyone’s commendation progress and minutes played. That’s how we determine who should be discharged.

To me it’s totally worthless because companies will farm in warzone and that just ruins the experience of warzone to me
