OP, emblems are not being removed from Halo. I have no idea where you got that from.

It simply means that those emblems are exclusive to that medium. Such as the exclusive, unique emblems from pre-ordering or getting the Limited Edition.

Man, kinda sucks, i was hoping the limited edition one was like a nameplate, I always use yin-yang, since halo 2.

I think people will be quite surprised by how much customization Halo 4 will provide. And unique means sort of exclusively available only to that purchase.
