What do you want to see in the Halo spin off game?

If you were part of the team at 343 Industries, what do you want to see in the Halo spin off video games especially when it comes to the story, the characters and the style for the game? Personally, I want to see a Magnificent Seven style Halo video game where the story is about a Spartan assemble a small group of ODST Troopers and Elites. And, they went on a mission to hunt down Brutes and the Flood. Would like to hear your thoughts. Thanks and keep up the great work.

You’re saying “the” as if it’s a thing. Did I miss something?

Anyway, I’d like to see a game based on being a non-military person during an attack. I think something like the noval “Halo: Last Light”, playing as a detective, would be cool. Still combat-based, but some sort of puzzle/mystery element.

I’ve been thinking about one for a while.
The main concept is a dead space style story.
Starts off with you being a marine stationed on the Amber Clad right after going through the portal to Delta Halo with you being a part of a reserve team meant to defend Amber Clad
Fast forward to the Amber Clad going to the library to retrieve the index were the flood board the Amber Clad and you have to defend the Amber Clad at first, learn that it’s a pointless fight and attempt to find a pelican to get off of it but the twist is you eventually get stuck somewhere leading to you doing a last stand and eventually becoming a flood combat form.
A nice option to this is you could see through the flood’s eyes what it was like infecting high charity.
This would of course be above T rating

A Similar Topic was brought up a while ago somewhere else on the Forums that I think can still work as a great Spin-Off Game.

A Sekiro/Ghost of Tsushima/Ninja Gaiden like 3rd Person Action & Stealth Game starring Elites during the Blooding Years a.k.a. the Elite Civil War.

There’s a lot of Battles & Skirmishes in that setting and having an Elite Protagonist who has a limited supplies to fight with, needing to be precise with their Sword attacks, while also being stealthy about it can be an interesting Spin-Off Gameplay wise since it would be a big departure from how the Mainline Halo Games actually play.

For an Added Bonus they could even get Team Ninja to help make it since they actually make Ninja Gaiden and it would be a fun callback to the Halo & DO4 Connection that happened many years ago.

It will be cool to see Team Ninja coming onboard to help 343 Industries especially when it comes to the Halo spin off video games. I really like this idea. A Halo Third Person Shooter video game going in a style of Ghost of Tsushima and Ninja Gaiden. I have been hoping to see a Halo video game where Elites are the main characters. Hopefully we can see that happened in future Halo video games.

A lot of people want more alien experiences than we have seen but to be honest I hope we get another Reach-like campaign with a silent protag and customisable armor that appears in cutscenes.

I thought it was really neat that your visual choices (minus non canon stuff like your head being on fire) were actually used in campaign missions.

I loved the story within the ODST audio logs. Just the idea of playing a non-military human trying to evade a covenant attack to maybe escape a planet. Could be a stealth focused game which would something really new gameplay wise. Either that or something to do with the insurgents.

What halo spin off lol ?

That sounds really interesting.

If you ever made a spin-off game from the Halo Wars Series I would love to see something focused on Space Combat. Halo has really expanded on the UNSC and Covenant fleets thanks to the tabletop game they tried a while back and I would love to see some of that stuff translate to either a space focused RTS or even an FPS halo story that focuses on some of the main space battles during the war. I think back to that Longsword footage from early Halo reach development and of course the mission of the Long Night of Solace from reach. I can also see characters from the books that are in the navy such as Cole or Stanforth getting more of a spotlight to wider audiences. I can even see a younger Captain Keys showing up in some why which could be really cool.

I would like to see a halo mobile game. Maybe some of these concept ideas could work on that platform.

Flood horror or survival game. Something that really puts that adrenaline back in the veins. Maybe something a little bit more challenging than ODST you know?

Kind of mix the two genres together. I know I’m not the only one that was thinking when the flood hit planet Earth in Halo 3 (oh God how many civilians and Marines are getting infected right now).

I don’t know, if there is going to be a spin-off, I would like to see 343 industries circle back towards what made the original trilogy and reach so incredible. Put the M for mature back in halo, knock off all the goofy forerunner weapons and enemies, and make this game something that could be completely immersive once again. A flood-based survival game, in my personal opinion would possibly be the spark that a lot of people need to get back into Halo.

Lastly, maybe partner up with oculus, or maybe a covenant invasion arcade game of some sort.

Anything involving Sangheili, I’ve always loved that side of the lore.

Anything with Elites for sure, I think its bold but if they take the risk it can really be rewarding beyond the RTS Halo Wars games.

Either that or space combat like Squadron / Ace Combat with longswords, pelicans and providing air-to-ground support in games.

Sangheili spin-off all the way! They have such interesting lore.

That sounds like a really cool idea. Maybe not the getting infected part though haha

I just want that “Halo Mega Bloks” game to be released, Phil Spencer mentioned wanting more E-Rated sort of titles and I think they could tone it down enough(guns etc) to make it fit the E-Rating. Seems like it would be a fun coop game.

This would be cool too, maybe not too Flood centric because their species is pretty straight forward but if this new Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Quarantine game is a hit with aliens/zombies or whatever it could be in that style.

There is another possibility that I can see it happened in the Halo spin off video games. I would love to see a Halo Action RPG video game especially if it’s based on the Halo: Ghosts of Onyx novel book. You can spend more time with the story, the characters and the gameplay in an Action RPG video game. The Final Fantasy 7 remake video game is a great example of spending more time with the story, the characters and the gameplay.

A Marine Squad point of view instead of a ODST or a Spartan.
