Honestly halo CE was my favourite soundtrack and would like to see halo 4 be very reminescent of it.
Essentially this is asking you your favourite sound track.
Halo 2’s OST was my favourite, so I hope it’s more like that, with enough variety to match what will hopefully be a very varied game.
The good news is, the concept art trailer had a good deal of variety in it, with the electronic Forerunner sounds, some epic melodies sweeping in, and a blaring ominous bass for when those mysterious pods started to appear.
The bad news is, the music for the very first ViDoc was very generically dramatic. There’s like one bit that I can remember of the entire tune, and I can’t even remember it that well.
I just hope Tojima doesn’t do what Marty did in H3 and try too hard to make it sound monumental and epic. That’s what messed up that OST for me.
I want it to be like CE’s. The most memorable music ever, I loved the music on the Pillar of Autumn, 343 Guilty Spark, Truth and Reconciliation, and the Maw. amazing that before CEA came out, I could still remember the Warthog escape music perfectly despite not touching the game in 4-5 years. Honestly, it had the best theme out of them all. I loved Halo 2 and 3’s as well because they were so memorable. And Reach’s was great as well. Haven’t played ODST or Wars so can’t say. I want it to be like Marty’s, but not a replica of his work.
Something new, but still respecting and using the original theme music as well. (Monk chant thing, sorry that I can’t name it.) It should hopefully give to the atmosphere of the game.
