What do you want in Halo 5?

So much things to put in… Forge additions, new promethean weapons and so much to put in… what in your wishlist for Guardians?

I just want balanced 4v4 gameplay, which 343 Industries has promised us.

I’m hoping the campaign meta-game features from the MCC are included along with theater and the ability to select a loadout rather than going in with the scripted weapons.

To play as Master Chief 100% of the time…

I trust 343i enough to do a good job with the campaign. For multiplayer however, one of my favorite aspects has always been vehicle play, especially in Halo 3, but with every new game, vehicles have become more and more weak and fall apart much too easily. Combine that problem with everyone in halo 4 spawning with plasma pistols, and giving you the EMP + plasma grenade combo, and scoring kills with vehicles is too much of a burden to care for. In many cases, like with your standard warthog, it’s a death wish, and that shouldn’t be happening. Make them more durable. My two cents.

Why would you want that? If we keep playing as Master Chief 100%, then we will start to get bored of his repetitive abilities. At least Agent Locke will probably have new “Spartan Ability”.

If it starts to get old then Halo will have to kill him off. Until then, Halo is about Master Chief.

and better armor. The armor in H4 was sucky. and in the crotch area it looked like they were like omg…idk…it’s the crotch…I’mma put a little peice of armor covering the nono square and then call it good. Idk. Like, jus kinda dissapointing, older armor was better imo

I think ALL weapons and vehicles in past Halo games should appear. Each version of the guns would function similar to how they did in their respective games, just make it so that each variation is simply a different production model. “CE shotgun” would have a different look than “standard shotgun,” would have a tighter spread and longer range and be pump action. Maybe it could fire slugs instead of pellets, or three big pellets instead of a large amount of small ones. The “standard shotgun” would be spreadshot and semi-auto with low range, maybe even double barreled, OR would be pump action, but you can fire two shots before having to pump. The “CE Pistol” would be a slightly bigger magnum with slower rate of fire than standard magnums and kills in fewer shots.

If dual-wield is in, there could be a smaller Needler variation that could be dual-wielded while the standard Needler can’t be. It would take more shots to supercombine of course.

A 64-round AR and a 32-round AR would have different mechanics, spread, and fire rate. I’d also like a machine pistol like in Spartan Assault. Would fit between pistols and SMGs in the sandbox.

I also have an idea for an Armored Personnel Carrier, a mix between a tank and a warthog, like the do in real life. It’s heavily armored with wheels instead of treads but only has chainguns and space for 3 passengers. The role is to fill up, penetrate enemy lines, and deploy behind their defenses. This would help turn the tables on a team that has locked down a map on a losing team.

Brutes as allies could be fun.

Promethean “Vehicles” or “mobile units” that could be ridden as vehicles would be sweet. As I’ve said in another thread, they’d be Prometheans in a more mobile body that are hacked, hotwired, or otherwise overridden to be controllable by Spartans.

A smaller mech suit, Perhaps Covenant or Promethean in nature, as a counterpart to the Mantis. Focused more on speed and hit-and-run tactics with thrusters for evasion. Could be used on big as well as smaller maps that a tank or mantis wouldn’t be suited to

Needle Rifle and Assault game type. In no particular order.

I want Invasion to come back and more BTB styled matches. New objectives like Dominion which are catered towards BTB.

  1. 4 player split screen for all modes (online and offline).

  2. Huge, unlinear campaign levels with some side quests. These side quests could be randomized (much like in e.g. Diablo 3), so everytime I’m getting back to these levels, to do some daily commendations (have I mentioned I want these to expand? ;)), I find something else.

  3. Progress system that will take hundreds (or thousands) of hours to reach top rank. It doen’t need to have any RPG elements, just some some rank number, some unlockable armor pieces/other small stuff, so everyone knows I’ve spent hundreds (or thousands) of hours playing the game.

I have a few things. Please note that this wish list will be primarily for ELITES, and I by no means expect it to be in the game. Why elites? Because they are quite literally my favorite alien species in all of science fiction, and they are drastically ignored or left on the sidelines in almost every Halo game after H3. They – and their fans – deserve a little love.

  • Let’s get the obvious one out of the way; playable Elites. Elites need to be playable. I know a lot of people are indifferent to the option, but I really don’t care about their opinion, I care about mine. 343 made such a big deal about how “This is YOUR Spartan!” In H4 and how “You can customize yourself and be part of the story!” Well, that’s all fine and *~Blam!~*ing dandy for you, but I have been playing as, and always seen myself as, an Elite since 2002. I have absolutely no desire to play as a Spartan II, III, or IV. I am an Elite. Forcing me to play as something else is the reason I’ve played only 100 or so matches of H4’s multiplayer and have no desire to play more.- Next? The Plasma Rifle needs to come back. I don’t care what you say 343, the Storm Rifle is NOT a spiritual successor to the Plasma Rifle. The designs are nothing alike. The Plasma Rifle looks and feels weird and alien in your hands. You’re not sure how it even works, all you know is you pull the trigger and plasma comes out. The Storm Rifle on the other hand looks more or less like an Assault Rifle that fires plasma. No.- I want Dual Wielding to come back. The last few things on this Wishlist that are Gameplay Related need it. This wish has been done to death already so let’s just leave this as is and move on.- Dual Wielding Energy Swords. I want them. Countless people do too. “What’s the point,” you might ask. “They kill in one hit anyway,” you might say. Well that may be true. But with this, they can kill you, as well as the buddy next to you. Or they could block one sword lunge and stab with the other. Or they could stab your buddy, and shoot you with a plasma rifle at the same time. There’s loads of possibilities that are all awesome.- New weapon/equipment idea: Sangheili Shield Gauntlet. Humans get the Hardlight Shield ability, elites get the dual-wieldable Shield Gauntlet. The Hardlight shield is invulnerable but restricts weapon usage, the Shield gauntlet has a charge and recharge rate. Again, plenty of options here. Block a sword with your shield and stab them back for cool gladiator duels, protect yourself while guarding an objective, etc. just hold it in front of you via L2 when duel wielding, and fire your gun from the side. Best part? The idea may have been scrapped from CE, but it still appears in the comics, so they exist.Next few things are story relevant rather than gameplay relevant.

  • More info on Sangheili Society. We know virtually nothing about them other than their society is similar to feudal japan, their honor code is like Bushido, that fathers cannot know who their sons are, and that you can only be a Swordsman if you are specifically born from someone that had that bloodline. That’s it. We know very little of their Navy’s ranking system, NOTHING how their females look much less how important they are to society, and many more things. The universe needs to expand past the basic “Humanity ~Blam!~ Yeah!” Concept. Star Wars was about a boy becoming a Jedi to defeat his Father, and look how extensive and detailed that universe became. Halo has that same potential if they would stop focusing only on the humans.- An actual Sangheili Swordsman character. Someone with the “ai” suffix at the end of their name. Someone that actually knows how to *~Blam!~*ing use a *~Blam!~*ing sword. Elites are supposed to have trained since childhood in this stuff, and the best we have seen them do is swish swish stab. As someone that has actually taken fencing lessons in real life, the elites in the Spartan Ops Episodes literally DISGUSTED me with how bad they were. It was like that was the first time they had ever picked one up. I want to see someone with sword skills like Fal 'Chavamee from The Duel actually showcase the skill of the martial art of swordplay that they train all their lives to master.- This last one is more for the more nerdy fans like myself, but I want an actual written language, akin to how Bethesda made a language for Dragons, or how many species in Star Trek have their own language as well. This would tie in to expanding the overall quality and depth of the universe as well as the Sangheili culture.
