What do you want in Halo 4 forge?
Post suggestions ITT.
Personally.
-More variety
-Not everything grey
-Phase pieces together so you can move multiple pieces as a whole
-More scenery
-Diverse building blocks

What do you want?
EVERYTHING!
> EVERYTHING!
I agree:)
This is like the 5th forum I’ve seen in 2 weeks with a title like this one.
But personally, I just want a forge world multiplied by 5, and different pieces and more colors on them. I like that idea of phasing objects together so you can move them as one piece.
After over 10 years of playing Halo…what do I want in Forge?
1.) Pelican for drop pods or vehilces
2.) Artificial Intelligence integration
3.) Terminals
-343 should put in AI and Terminals. AI for the forge could be collected in the Halo 4 campaign via Kinect, just like in Halo Anniversary. Terminals could be used in forge as a 500 letter character bank for checkpoint use or to tell a fan based story throughout a forged map.
4.) Laundry list of weather and texture packs
5.) Destructible enviroments
That’s All Folks!

Or upload a clip into the terminal, and have it play on loop or just once; your choice.
Spot on my friend, Spot on. :^) That would qualify as fan based for sure.

Great ideas.
Weather generators, texture pallets for items.
that is all.
Weather, time of day, terrain editor, copy and paste, glue, openable and closable doors, working elevators, dead bodies, blood, fire, NO gray
I want it to be like reach but i hope more people play custum games
Weather, Copy and Paste, Traps and secret doors etc. Pretty much all of the above!

ELEVATORS AND DOORS~
I’d like a real map creator with tons of new features and all that rubbish.
Corpses.
Bloodspatter.
Dawn/Day/Dusk/Night.
-No limit to the amount of objects that can be put in a map.
-mobile platforms that you can change the direction and speed of movement
-copy/paste
-switches that can trigger certain events on a map

Along with the previously stated that corpses can be places and maybe add a copy and paste tool (lol and maybe a crop one too)
I completely agree with this guy, but would like to add one more thing: maybe a way to set up activation switches/panels which affect the map in some way shape or form… Like if you make a door you can add a button some where which you can link to that door to open it via wires or wireless…
-N30N
(p.s. I know this doesn’t really count to some, but maybe add a things where perks can be set up in game mode for death/kill streaks and other scores and achievements.)
As a dedicated forger myself, I’ll say that Forge World, while amazing, doesn’t offer much in terms of forgable space. It gives you multiple “areas”, such as the Island and the Canyon, Alaska, etc, but due to the nature of these locations in Forge World, it makes it very difficult to forge around these, more specifically the Island. Any forger can tell you how difficult forging on Montana and the Island can be. Hell even the Rock is a difficult forging location. The original plan of having 5 separate maps I think was a better idea than Forge World, particularly because of lag, diversity, and object availability. Forge World has so much going on that where you forge your map is incredibly crucial. When combined with different lightings that make your forge pieces look inconsistent with each other, going for more simple approachs for Forge maps (plural) are what would make a forging location better.
And then you have forging pieces. Forge World has a HUGE pallete. However, almost every single piece is extremely inconsistent with the other. All the blocks are extremely complex, and unlike blocks like the ones you’d find in Sandbox from Halo 3, these blocks do not phase together well. Many of the blocks are different sizes and do not fit together well, and especially when using the degree snap and grid to measure objects perfectly together, many pieces don’t even connect well. The complex designs make for very ugly forging. Block 2x2’s have completely different designs than 3x3’s and 4x4’s, and as such it cause very ugly forging patterns. Forerunner architecture is simple and doesn’t require a whole lot of noise like objects in Forge world have. and at the same time cause huge amounts of lag. Every wall piece and window piece in Forge World cause ridiculous amounts of lag because so much is going on on just one piece. A whole map full of them could render a map simply unplayable. You want forgers to be able to go crazy with imagination, but the complexity and inconsistency of each piece makes for very difficult forging.
Forging in Halo 4 needs:
-SIMPLE pieces that are unified and have similar designs to other objects of the same type
-variety in forging spaces (not unlike Forge World)
-objects that can be activated, such as openable doors, shield walls
-a variety of decorative objects. Decorative and complex objects should have their own place, while simple building obects (such as blocks and walls) have less complex designs that are easy on the eye and lag.
-Forgeable invisible barriers (works similar to safe and kill zones, but rather than decide where players can play by means of death, have it done by means of physical, but invisible, barriers. Similar to barriers found on the very outskirts of a map’s playable area.
-As much natural forging pieces as can be. Trees, rocks, if possible, forgable water or objects that come with water (like swamp puddle), etc.
-invisible one way shield doors(only visible in Forge mode)
-Copy and Paste tool, where you highlight a group of objects make a copy of them, and paste them wherever you want (it’d be like forging a base for one side, and wanting the exact same base on the other side, so you’d copy the first built base by highlighting the pieces, then paste the copy wherever you want.
Not completely reetarded frame rate.
That is all.
