Halo has been known to have the most “Oh -Yoink- thats a boss” moments in gaming using enemy’s that we would naturally be a little intimidated by
like 4 hunters
or 2 scarabs
or a old man in a flying chair
or even a realy strong elite that flew
I think we sould bring that back
So this thread is for your idea for a boss fight
Mine is one if the old fashioned hunters
you know the ones where both hunter brothers were in one body instead of separated and would be twice the size of a wraith
It would be cool to get on one of those covie cruisers and find one of these chained up only to have it rip the chains and attack you
Mine would be an Enraged Forerunner.
Actually no, that’d be a pain in the -Yoink- to kill.
The halo I know isn’t known for the most boss fights in gaming.

no I said
The Most “Oh -Yoink-” boss fight moments
not the most boss fights but the most moments with those bosses
I mean common
the first time i saw 2 scarabs fall from the sky I -Yoink- myself
I highly dought im the only one.

I dont really think two scarabs can count as bosses. That are so easy to kill.

still first time you see it you gotta be a little intimidated
and ya easy to kill but can get annoying and a challenge to beat when you lost your hornet and are trying o kill the other with just a pistol
Something like Tartarus at the end of Halo 2, Best Halo Game ever made in my opinion.
-You hijack a Scarab, like in Halo 2, and then fight multiple Forerunner War Sphinxes at the same time. Or any other large scary vehicle, other Scarabs serve that purpose too.
-Freefalling fight with jetpack enemies like BFBC2’s ending.
-Something like Tartarus - a big, angry melee enemy.
-An interactive cutscene boss-fight like MW2’s ending. Without the pulling-knives-out-of-your-own-chest part, I don’t think knives can penetrate Chief’s armor (unless we’re talking Halo Reach assassination knives).
-Car chase in interesting terrain. Like the Halo 3 Warthog Run, except you’re chasing someone or escaping from someone. To make the mission more interesting than just driving, you are allowed to fire your weapon while driving.
But really it’s too late to be suggesting these. Maybe in Halo 5/6…
As long so its not a drive a warthog as fast as you can to try and beat the clock Thing again .
That’s been done 1 to many times…
Nothing of the sort, please. Halo isn’t renowned for sticking you in an artificially-sealed room and ditching all the previous rules of the game, leaving you with an enormous temperamental beastie that just so happens to flash its weak spot at you before attacking and then leaving itself vulnerable.
The closest we have is encounters with tougher enemies with no weaker ones about. Those, however, still abide by the rules of the weapon and AI sandbox, and can therefore be overcome with the tactics we have learnt earlier in the game. Just by sprinkling some spice on them, e.g. charging with an Energy Sword, being invisible, can they be made more interesting and engaging.
Halo 2’s boss battles were one of the worst design decisions of that game. Killing Regret by pressing B a few times and watching John half-heartedly fist an old trout as it groaned unconvincingly was not very fun compared to the rest of the level.
Mario Dual Weilding Plasma Pistols on top of Yoshi.
He can throw Incendiary grenades and every time we shoot his stupid hat he goes into a rage and summons an airstrike of falling goombas.

The only warthog “beat the clock” type mision was done in CE. The one in Halo 3 was: “DON’T FALL IN THE -YOINK!-ING LAVA!!”
Then again you could be talking about the Maw, but then again I enjoyed doing that…
It felt like not having
to fight Gravemind in Halo 3
at the end of the level The Covenant
was a huge missed opportunity
I’d like to see big bosses
in Halo 4 like
a Gravemind or maybe a
smaller more agile boss
like a Forerunner
I really liked the
boss battles in Halo 2
Precursor or a War Sphinx
There is no boss. The game is easy even at legendary. Especially true since each sequel are more easy than the last one so far. I want Master Chief to fight againts himself. That would be a boss.
I would like to see the covenant faction leader that is attacking Master Chief. Like in a two stage battle, at first it’s just him with guards, then he uses forunner technology like a uber-exo-squeleton or doomsday device.
Just give me an army of CE Zealots or H2 Councilors/Ultras.
Even though I dominate, assemble, and assert command over them, just 1 of these are enough to intimidate me.
H2 Cairo Station Legendary, with all skulls on is when you really get an appreciation and fear for Ultras.
H2 Great Journey, assembling an army of Spec Ops Elites/Councilors and watching them all throw grenades/pull out their swords and fight Tartarus is badass. I’ve seen it all but this screenshot is the only one that has survived to this day.
CE Two Betrayals Legendary, bringing the Goldie on the bridge to the end of the level while fighting Flood is extremely terrifying that I often have to leave him behind so I can deal with the Flood by myself. That’s how I got past the 2nd twin bridges fight, because there’s 5-6 rocket launcher Flood and 2 Banshees. Getting a Goldie actively involved while trying to survive is very difficult.
