And everyone is a Guardian of something. Chief is the Guardian of Humanity, Cortana is his Guardian, The Libriarian/Halsey are Guardians of the Universe, 343 Guilty Spark was the Guardian of a Halo Ring.

The Didact was convinced he we The Mantle’s Guardian but this is humanity’s to be Guardian of.
