It is fair that when you enter to play one of your team abandons for x reason, or there are some who only play to hinder, everyone in due course creates some new profile, to practice, to help a friend up, but they affect other players, you think about it…
Not sure why it would be fair.
Depends greatly on the situation. I’ve had to leave for personal reasons before but I always apologize to the chat beforehand
If its SWAT or snipers I’m glad they left, otherwise I’m pissed because its almost a guaranteed loss
Players can leave matches for any number of reasons. Is it fair? Of course not. But that’s just how it goes with online matchmaking.
It’s not fair that this behavior is allowed with barely, if any punishment.
If it’s in a social gametype, it’s just part of the game honestly. I think quit/AFK bans in social should be less heavy handed.
If it’s in ranked? I’m reporting you for these habits. You’re intentionally choosing a competitive playlist and abandoning your team. That isn’t okay.
I think that if you enter a MP you should commit to finish the game. Exceptions being if you have a irl reason to stop playing at once, preferably plan so that the risk of that is slim.
Hackers are rare in Halo, but I don’t think they deserve to have people to play with, so I would be fine with people quitting those games, but it needs to be more than a suspicion, which pretty much never happens.
I’m glad the punishment isn’t too high though, sometimes MCC crashes and I don’t wanna get banned longer than 3 minutes for that, maybe if you quit twice during the same hour or something you could get banned for the rest of the day. Idk.
Social games I don’t care as much but in ranked it is really annoying. Also I’m ranked I had a few
games this week we’re a teammate was just killing themselves over and over again
What I’m saying is that it’s not fair for you to give up your fault for a bad player, one can understand that your network falls off, or that you have to go to the bathroom, but do it so they don’t lower you, or so they don’t see that you lost, I see that very badly
Let them burn in hell, they do not deserve to continue the great journey.
I only leave games when I’m angry because of my team, we could be getting demolished and my team isn’t working together at all so I leave
Nothing
I don’t really care. If half leave I’ll just leave too.
I hate when players leave. If something comes up for them to leave because of an actual emergency okay cool, its a game and that shouldn’t be a reason they have to suffer for it. But just to quit cuz of something small then why join a match and screw over players. People should be punished more harshly.
I’m still of the opinion that casual And BTB matches should have Join In Progress if the remaining time and score of the match is reasonable. Quitting in casual should be substituted, not punished (except perhaps not getting the xp from that match, but keeping the stats applied to you. As to stop those people quit whenever their game starts to go south). There are plenty reasons to need to leave a game that I will broadly describes as ‘Real Life’.
Say it’s classic slayer, 4v4 first to 50 kills or whoever has the most kills in 12 minutes. If someone leaves and their team is down 13 - 35 in the first 5 min, JIP should be disabled. Whereas if the score is 20-23 in the same time period it would be fine to join, you’ll still get a good 5 minute game and the opportunity to turn the tide. Obviously some sort of code can be developed around this.
Competitive however should have a stronger focus and better rewards, on the condition of very strict Quit penalty. When you start a comp match you should be able to expect to dedicate the next 15 minutes to it, if your team is getting destroyed you should be able to vote forfeit. If there is a troll you should be able to vote kick. However abandoning the match should get you a long term penalty. Ultimately this system should allow for fairer matches for all players regardless of constraints in their life.
I’ve thought too much about this.
1 Player leaves and the chances for another one leaving is pretty high. Happened to me a few times this week and it’s just playing hide and seek then. In social it’s fun to play with less teammates and using surprise strategies. In ranked I understand that you get easily pissed off. I personally never left a game even when I’m alone against 4 others (happens rarely anyway)
This will always exist in online multiplayer games. It isn’t fair to those remaining, but it is a risk to be considered with joining up with “randos”. Find some friends to play with. As far as people getting punished for quitting early… i dunno. That is a slippery slope. Maybe if it becomes a habit and someone has an extensive track record of quitting matches early.
I guess it depends on why they leave. The most frustrating is when you’re losing and someone leaves even though there was a chance to come back. However if you’re getting completely annihilated and it’s obvious there’s no chance you’ll win I don’t blame people for leaving. Most people play games to have fun and that definitely isn’t fun so no hard feelings.
I’ve been trying to get the Guilty Shots challenge and the Who, What, Win challenge for the Battle Rifle skin. But it has started to become increasingly difficult. Not from it being competitive and my skills being bad. That I already knew before starting. No, it’s getting difficult when my WHOLE TEAM QUITS and it’s just me vs. four others. And this is happening more than rarely.
It really depends on the situation. I try not to get too aggravated because I don’t know if they had a legitimate reason to leave. If they are a habitual quitter, then that’s annoying, but if it was for a good reason then I don’t mind. I do my best not to leave a game, but if my kids wake up and need me, they take priority over a game
