I was sort of suspecting they would look like that(through the teased concept art at halo fest)…but I was expecting 343i to create something larger…more scary…more threatening. The new enemies look a bit…generic.
I’m not saying the enemies look -Yoink-…its just that after all the beautiful concept art released and new design of the Chief…I was hoping something that would have surprised me. I just don’t feel the design of the enemy. Hopefully there are different classes with bigger and more badass variants.
One thing that impressed me was the AI behaviour…Halo is known to have some the best enemy AI and this new enemy doesn’t disappointing…makes the elites and brutes look like -Yoink-. I mean don’t tell me you were not surprised when the enemy tossed the grenade back at the player.
I want to know what you lot think of the new enemy.
i for one think they look great. But i am wondering why when it opens its mask theres a orangish redish glowing human skull inside, and why didi it open it in the first place?
They look really challenging, I like that.
They look like they’re bound to act smart, but aesthetically, they look odd. Megatron’s head with Ghost Riders flaming skull. A new change, but these are not the Promethean’s from Halo. These are possibly a different version, for if we had to face Didact/Bornsteller, he’d kill us, bring us back and ill us again.
They are great.
Judging from their AI behaviour I think it will be more of a challenge this time, especially on Legendary.

Mother of God, the Elites on Legendary on Reach… evade, toss grenade, shoot a few times to lower shields, toss another grenade. That was harsh.

they were confirmed to not be the Warrior-Servant Prometheans. So that means they are a different kind

That much was implied: they don’t have the size of Warrior-Servant’s. Warrior-Servants’ arms are the size of tree trunks, thus throwing them out of the picture. However, there are Crytpum’s…
It’s been stated elsewhere that there are seven unit types we’ll be facing; we’ve only seen three so far (Knight, Watcher, and Crawler). It’s entirely possible you’ll be surprised when the you finally get to play through the campaign.

that Cryptum is most likely to hold the Didact, and i feel like he wont be the enemy in this. He cant if 343 wants Chief to survive and still keep the story line the same. I think he is going to ally with us, and that the Prometheans on Requium were just corrupted by the “Ancient Evil”

I agree with you on that. I don’t think those are what we’ve come to expect from the other Promethean’s as much as we might wanna say yes, they just don’t look all that menacing. Plus, the ancient evil needs to be awakened, if it’s already not.
