Personally I really like this new main menu music and think it is a big step up from the Halo 4 music. I’d say if we got rid of nostalgia and released this soundtrack alongside some soundtracks from Halo 1-3 I think it would fit in perfectly with that “Halo feel”.
I can’t wait to hear some more emotional OSTs while I’m playing the Halo 5 campaign. Also the main composer of Halo 5 Guardians will be Kazuma Jinnouchi, who also made arguably the best soundtrack from Halo 4, 117.
It doesn’t sound like Halo. It sounds good, but not like Halo. It’s the same problem that Halo 4 had; they had only new tracks, and they didn’t have one hint of Halo in them. The old ones had gregorian-like chants and vocals, piano… these new ones don’t have that. But I’ve listened to a piano re-do of ‘To Galaxy’ and ‘117’, and there comes the Halo feel. In short; add something that makes it more Halo like.

> ehh, its not bad, but it has lost its magic. But I can’t judge it yet since it was only the title screen music. We’ll have to wait.

Really? I don’t know whether it’s me just thinking anythings good or you being slightly blinded by nostalgia, but I thought I heard lots of little sections throughout the 7 minutes that sounded extremely similar to soundtracks from 2, 3 and even ODST. One example I found starts at 1:23, is it just me or does that part remind you a whole lot of the gregorian-like chants from the previous Halo’s (although it is a bit more in the background this time).
Also one thing to point out is go check out near the end of episode 1 of The Sprint. I don’t know if this is a reused track from a previous Halo or Halo 5 will be including a classic soundtrack. I’m going to have to go check it out again.

I don’t think it is meant to sound like the classics, just like the art-style. I personally love it, it’s not as catchy as I would hope it’d be but still amazing!
